About this property

Old Boswednack, a rural retreat gem! On the idyllic coast of Zennor to St Ives. Summer house, garden, parking for two cars and free WiFi.

Old Boswednack is a super family holiday home located in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. The walks around Old Boswednack are simple gorgeous and it is also a top place to base a holiday from as there are just so many breathtakingly beautiful places to visit within 10 miles of the cottage. It is equally welcoming to couples wanting something a little special for a break away. It sleeps 4 and has 2 bedrooms; one king size bedroom with en-suite shower room that also has a wash basin and WC and a twin bedroom. There is a wonderful family bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and wash basin.

The kitchen is open plan with the dining area and living area and is very well-equipped kitchen to cater for a family of 4. The dining table comfortably seats 4 people but can seat up to 6 too. The living area is welcoming and cosy with a wood burner offering extra warmth (and romance) for the chillier days. There is a door that leads off the living/ kitchen area to a secure and very pretty garden with terrace. In the garden, there is a very relaxed extra living space that is affectionately known as ‘The Shack’. It is far from shabby or washed up! It is a light and welcoming additional space that can be used for playing family games, reading, painting, yoga or snoozing! It has a small kitchen area and a WC too.

The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive to a glorious, dog-friendly all year round beach called Portheras. St Ives is just 9 miles in along the coast road and in the other direction is Sennen Cove, Land’s End and Porthcurno. You can walk to the nearest pub called The Gurnard’s Head and it takes 5 minutes across fields. 15 minutes on foot in the other direction, across fields is The Tinners Arms at Zennor.

There is free WiFi throughout the house, you will need to enable WiFi calling as there is no reception inside the house or garden.

There is private parking for 2 cars and is directly outside the house.

One well-behaved small to medium size dog is welcome (terms and conditions apply with a £50 per pet per week fee).

All bed linen, bath towels and utilities are included in the rate.

Perfect stay
Lovely week here. Lovely accommodation. Comfortable. Spacious. Well equipped. We were 2 adults 2 teens and dog. Loved the summerhouse for evenings. Coastal dog walks. Walks to zennor csfe and pub and also gunnards head. We even caught the bus outside xennor into st ives and got it back straight to the cottage. Would def return if back in area. No faults at all.

Old Boswednack
Lovely property and amazing area. Great size and nicely decorated with good quality towels provided. The only downside is that the property is located on the main road which isn’t horrendously busy by town standards but in August during our stay there was a fairly steady amount of cars/buses passing by. There is no direct access to footpaths/coastal path, it’s a short walk along the main road to access. Not ideal with a dog when used to a quieter environment but manageable. Overall would recommend, very lovely property.

It must be good as it’s our 2nd visit
A great place for a rural holiday in Cornwall. Visit North or South Coast easily. Cottage comfortable and cozy. Bed was very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen.

Lovely accomodations with all you need
Lovely stay, beautiful property with all you need. Perfect for people that want a relaxed, slow holiday in a beautiful remote location. Would recommend taking a walk down to the coast for a beautiful view / sunset! If you are looking to explore Cornwall then the location may feel a bit far out, as it is at least an hour from popular parts of Cornwall. It was perfect for us as we have been a few times so knew the best spots which were worth the journey! We unfortunately missed out on a recommended meal at the local gurnards head as it was booked out for a month! Would recommend booking in advanced to make sure you can make it!

Lovely property in a peaceful location
This is a lovely property in a very peaceful location, a short walk across fields from the pretty village of Zennor. It's very well equipped and the summer house is a lovely extra - our 7 year old enjoyed having this to herself to draw and read in. The only slight downside is that it's position and the position of the windows means it is a little dark inside the cottage - but the lovely garden makes up for this.
