Great cottage near the Scottish border
This cottage provides everything to spend a great holiday time. Very well situated near the Scottish border, 5 minutes by car from the sea and a wonderful beach, very quiet and comfortable and well-equiped. The quite big garden is lovely. Many places to visit around in England as well as in Scotland. Communication with Jacqui was very easy and she will always help if needed. We will certainly return if spending holidays again in this region.

Perfection!
We are two mature bikers and the cottage provided secure parking for our 'boy's toys'! The cottage was spotless and absolutely beautiful with everything anyone would need for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal for exploring both sides of the border, and the neighbours were very helpful and friendly. WiFi and phone reception was excellent and streaming channels were available on the TV. There was a lovely welcome pack, and all cleaning products were provided. The beds and lovely bedding ensured a god night's sleep. In fact we can't praise Mona's Cottage highly enough and we are are already planning our next year's visit. We can't wait!

Comfy quiet cottage
The cottage was clean and comfortable with a lovely garden. It was well equipped. The shower was over a deep bath and a bit difficult to climb in and out for someone with slight mobility issues, but plenty of hot water. The cottage is ideally placed for exploring Berwick on Tweed, Lindisfarne, north Northumberland and the Borders and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jacqui was most helpful at all times.

Beautiful cottage, ideal location
Very comfortable and clean. Quality accommodation in quiet area but close to beautiful beaches and interesting historical landmarks. Weather typically British so unable to do much of English costal path but this gives us a reason to return

Originally from a little bit down the coast in Warkworth, I've lived on the Northumbrian Coast all my life. I came up to Berwick on a lovely summer evening and thought it would be a nice place to live.
The Cottage came up for sale and I fell in love with it, a bit dilapidated but my partner is a builder and has done a wonderful job restoring it. We loved it so much we bought the house next door as well, which is also a holiday cottage. Lizzies Cottage.

Why they chose this property

Mona's Cottage is a traditional Stone Cottage with its many features preserved, a lovely sunny aspect. In a rural location yet not that far from the main A1, the lovely clean beaches at Cocklawburn and all the amenities Berwick has to offer.
The area around Berwick upon Tweed is packed full of history, picturesque places to visit and beautiful sandy beaches stretching for miles.
An ideal base for exploring Northumbria and the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh is only an hour away by car and 40 minutes by train (a wonderful train journey up the coast), there is also a bus stop 50 yards away if you don't wish to drive, taking you into Berwick or further down the coast. On a double deck bus the views are magnificent. There are many country and coastal walks and cycle tracks, it is ideal for families or a romantic trip away.
The garden gets the sun most of the day and is a wonderful sun trap to relax in and dine alfresco.

What makes this property unique

Mona's is cool in summer and warm in winter, we face south so you get the sun most of the day, the garden is quiet, private and surrounded by trees and shrubs. Decorated in throughout in warm whites to give guests a light filled calm interior to give a relaxing atmosphere.
