Stay in your very own historic retreat! The phenomenal ambience of this 1852 Savannah Garden Apartment will be remembered long after your vacation (or weekend getaway) has ended.

This is an ideal location in the center of the Historic District, just one block north of Forsyth Park and one block west of Bull Street that runs down the center of the Historic District. Step out of the gated entrance to the property onto the sidewalk and instantly be surrounded by picturesque Savannah streetscapes and landmarks that Savannah is so well known for. Walk to everything from here. Less than a mile to River Street.

Located on the ground level of a 4-story townhome. The Garden Apartment is accessed from the sidewalk through a secure gated entrance onto the property and down a bricked-lined walkway. You will literally feel as if you have stepped back in time as you step through the Garden Apartment entrance into the living room steeped in history with original brick floors, brick walls, and magnificent cast-iron mantle with gas log fireplace making it easy to relax with the comfortable sitting arrangement that includes a full-size pull-out sleeper sofa.

Step from the 1850's era living room into the 1950's era vibe kitchen; even more unique with it's brick and stucco walls, clapboard and metal cabinets and vintage enamel sink. Enjoy a meal in this cute and quirky styled kitchen while dining at the glass-top table for four or sit and stare out the window into our enchanting courtyard, all yours to enjoy as well.

Enter the modern era once in the bedroom suite with plush King bed! A bathroom with pedestal sink, and combination tub/shower is accessed through the bedroom.

A laundry room with coin-operated washer and dryer is available on site shared between the 5 total rental units at this classic Savannah estate. (The upper levels of the home include long-term residential apartments as well as "The Parlor" Apartment, a spacious 1-bedroom/ 1-bath vacation rental (see listing Id #815634). In addition, we offer a 1-bedroom/1-bath "Carriage House" (see listing ID #675591), located across the courtyard within the gated property. Please review our stellar reviews or inquire about our neighboring rentals in case the travel dates you desire are not available for the Garden Apartment or inquire about our larger short term furnished rental offerings in other areas of historic downtown Savannah.

An optional pass is only needed on weekdays (Mon-Fri) from 8-5.

-Parking is free on weekends! No charge for metered parking (and no pass needed) from Friday at 5pm until Monday at 8am.

This is not just a place to stay, it is an experience to remember. The Garden Apartment is 'quintessential' Savannah. We are not ashamed of the historic character 'she' has earned, but instead covet it. We can't walk into a store and buy the ambience that this space naturally radiates.

Aside from the unique charm of the Garden Apartment, the prime location is what vacationers are looking for - just walk out the door and be in the middle of the 'tourist attractions' of downtown Savannah. Lucky for us the tourist attractions are mainly beautiful outdoor areas like Forsyth Park (one block south of this house); the gorgeous Squares throughout downtown; and the standout architecture and history found at almost every building you walk past.

There's just something special about this charming garden apartment. We have always considered this apartment our favorite rental unit! Cozy, quaint, rustic and comfortable, this apartment serves as a fantastic getaway from Savannah's bustling downtown.

We absolutely loved this Garden Apt and its perfect location in Historic Savannah! Its exactly like the pictures, small but clean and just charming. We had no trouble with parking and didn't use the car for the time we were there. Chatham Square is steps away and beautiful Forsthye Park is around the corner. We use the free public transportation to go down to River Street & City Market. We bought some groceries at Krogers nearby and had breakfast every moring in the super cute and very functional 50's style kitchen(loved the gas stove). Savannah the weekend we were there was overcast and in the evening very foggy especially down by the River. To us, it just made it that much more romantic and a little spooky which is all part of Savannah's charm. Huey's on the River has awesome New Orleans style food and if you like old creepy cementaries, do a tour of Bonaventure Cementary. We spent Sunday afternoon in Tybee Island a definite must see while in the Savannah area!! Overall, it was a great place to stay and we hope to return and let our friends know about it!!

Excellent property! Exactly as pictured. I have travelled the world for 23 years, and I gotta say, this property beats the 'regular' hotel chains, hands down. No scheisse, it was exactly as pictured. Close to all the history that is Savannah, and a expeditious car drive (if you prefer) to everything else that makes this city wonderful. Already planning an Oct 2018 return trip. Carmen & Jon are wonderful. Even put up with me asking for food delivery suggestions on a late Sunday evening. They are the best! Highly recommend this property!

Carmen has done a lovely job of furnishing this apartment and welcomed us with nice amenities like wine , flowers, cookies. Walkable, charming safe area. Would definitely return to this apartment and lovely Savannah. Carmen’s Restaurant recommendations were great.

Nice experience! Richer "Savannah Style" outlook.

This apartment was neat. I was immediately impressed with the layout and how the interior was decorated but not overdone and not cluttered. Care was taken to keep the historic focal points of the space. Personal touches to make the renter feel welcome were so nice after my long commute to get there! Carmen is a nice person and easy to communicate with. She will send you the instructions that you need to make your arrival and departure stress-free. You will enjoy walking around this wonderful city and will love coming back to this apartment to relax at the end of a busy day. I have been to Savannah many times and each experience is new and exciting but this one tops the list!

An Oustanding stay in a Classic Historic property with Great Personal Service

I am the owner of several vacation rentals in New Orleans, LA and I travel 9 months of the year for pleasure (often staying at Vacation Rentals). Therefore, believe me when I say that this has been the best vacation rental experience I’ve had over the last year and a half of my semi retired travels. Like my managers in New Orleans, Carmen went above and beyond to make our stay in this classically historically preserved garden apartment in the middle of Savannah’s beautiful historic district wonderful. From her quick response to my first inquiry to all the helpful information she sent until my arrival and checkout, she was consummate professional.

When we arrived in the Beautiful apartment we were surprised to find a personalized Gift basket which included several Georgia treat (cookies, biscuits, popcorn, AND a bottle of wine). Although the unit Slightly predates the Civil War, it was full of modern amenities and most importantly the Wi-Fi was very reliable and speedy (5G speed!) The unit included everything you need including a fully stocked kitchen, towels, sheets, soap (oatmeal bar!!) and shampoo.

There is also a shared furnished Beautiful court yard and patio. The unit is within close walking distance of several great restaurants, parks, stores, and coffee shops.

The stay was made more wonderful by the excellent personal service rendered flawlessly by the owner Carmen. It is evident that Carmen and her husband Jon are not just trying to make a quick buck but rather

want their guest to have a wonderful experience in the Magical City that they love.
