Good old house, private, in the woods, cool and relaxing.
We spent two weeks in this house during a period in which it was very hot in the region. The house was always welcoming cool when we came back from our day trips. The house has a good ancient feel about it. We cooked dinner every night using the BBQ in the garden. The evenings are wonderful with the sounds of the birds and the light of the hundreds of fireflies (sometimes they are on vacation..). The area is quite interesting if you do not mind moving around a bit. Bologna is also well within reach especially if you drive to Castel San Pietro and take the train from there. The nice house-owners are prepared to do any effort to make you comfortable. They speak excellent English.

Why they chose this property

The house's first testimony dates back to 1717, but it's significantly older. It used to be a "casa padronale", as landowners' houses were called.
During the years several works have been made, trying to keep, when possible, the original parts, doors and windows included.
In the night the place is incredibly quiet.

What makes this property unique

You can park your car in fornt of the entrance, where the road ends. You'll enjoy full privacy, since woods separates the village from the house (see the map).
Due to its location and the thickness of the walls the house is well insulated from the hot weather, tipical of italian summer, so you'll feel no-need of AC at all.
The immediate surroundings are made of lawns and trees. You'll find many footpaths to walk into nature. If you prefer to drive, there are many lovely places around. Florence is at 1:30 hr drive, Bologna at 1 hr drive, Rimini at 1:45
