About this property

4 Star Tastefully Renovated, Spacious Barn Conversion, Sleeps 2, Relax and Enjoy

Coachman’s loft is a delightfully spacious first floor conversion of a stone barn dating back over 250 years, situated off the main street in the heart of West Witton in the lee of Penhill. It is a Visit England Four Star Property which comprises a double bedroom with a king size bed, a living area including a kitchen and dining area, and a shower room. Parking is on the adjacent quiet road off the main street.

The Barn is located within the owners’ property which is entered from the well-kept cottage style garden and patio area. There is also space for a summer evening barbeque. Tastefully renovated and recently decorated throughout for the 2016 season the barn conversion offers outstanding accommodation with high quality furnishings and “home from home” facilities. The property is heated throughout by thermostatically controlled modern electric heaters.
The entrance door leads to a hall/lobby area for coats and muddy boots and the accommodation is accessed by wooden and stone stairs. The cosy open plan living area features a sitting area, dining area, a breakfast bar and a well equipped kitchen. Across the landing past the shower room and toilet is the large double bedroom. There is a king size bed with a comfy mattress and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Guests are welcome to use the owners’ private garden seating and patio area.

Cozy Dales Coachman's Loft with great location
My husband and I just returned from a week in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Coachman's Loft in the town of West Witton was a perfect location for us to talk long walks in the magnificent countryside. Semer Water, Asygarth Falls and Hardraw Force are all close by and not to be missed. The Loft was spotlessly clean and spacious for the two of us. We really appreciated the large king size bed and roomy sitting/living area. The small kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. The loft overlooks a beautiful garden and a cute sun house is available for guests to use. Carol and Steve were great hosts providing us with lots useful information about the local area and a good selection of maps and walking guides. We appreciated the tea and cake upon our arrival and the lovely bouquet of tulips (in honor of our 50th anniversary) -thanks so much! Be sure to enjoy Sunday Lunch at the Fox & Hounds pub and for a special occasion the excellent food at the 5 star Wensleydale Hefer both within walking distance of the Loft. We highly recommend the Coachman's Loft and would definitely come again!

Garden and village view comfortable loft
The loft apartment was very clean, bright and comfortable, with beautiful garden, nicely decorated spacious rooms, warm shower, good wifi. good climate control system. It was in a small village centrally located in the Dales National Park, within walking distance to a pub and grocery market. The hosts were very friendly and informative and left lots of brochures for things to see in the area. Everyone we met in the area was friendly and kind. This was a perfect place for our stay in the Dales.

A wonderful stay in the Dales!
We spent 2 weeks in Carol and Steve's Coachman's Loft, and it exceeded all of our expectations! Everything was perfectly clean and tastefully decorated. The shared garden space was lovely in July, with gorgeous flowers and benches to sit and enjoy them. Carol and Steve were more like friendly neighbors that hosts, although they did provide plenty of helpful information about local sights and eateries. We would return with hesitation.
