Wainstones wonderfull in Bakewell
Wonderful Wainstones cottage for our family trip to Bakewell. Kitchen so well equipped. Teen loved the attic. Location is perfect with parking opposite. Warm and cosy. Stairs not for all. The very best stay of our month long travel through the UK. Everything we wished for and more.

A lovely cottage
A well equipped cottage, lovely and clean and with really communicative owners, everything was easy. We had an issue with the heating - well actually the heating was fine, it was me being thick - and the owner was on the phone in literally a couple of minutes to sort it for us, I was very impressed. A fantastic location in the centre of town, but be aware if you have young children that need to get to sleep, the Bakewell Bellringers make an absolute racket at the church across the road every Thursday from 7.30-9pm, sleep was impossible for our 1 year old until they’d stopped. But overall a lovely stay.

A Perfect Cottage in Charming Bakewell
I've stayed several times in Bakewell and can say that this cottage beats all others. It's in the heart of Bakewell so you can walk to all shops and restaurants in the area. It is beautifully appointed, very well equipped, and immaculately clean. Attention to detail is clear at every turn. The check-in was simple and the fresh flowers, wine, and food staples were greatly appreciated. The bedrooms and bathroom are spacious. The water pressure in the shower was great. The beds were comfy and the linens and towels were such nice quality. This cottage is a winner in every respect.

About the host

After my early retirement in 2015, I took time to fully renovate Wainstones before our first holiday rental in the Summer of 2016. My wife and I have been building the business since then and are proud to have received positive feedback from many of our guests.

We live in Over Haddon, a small village close to Bakewell, and absolutely adore the Peak District where we have lived for more than 20 years with our 2 daughters.

Why they chose this property

Because it's right in the heart of a beautiful small market town - Bakewell.

It is a great location for exploring the Peak District. You don't even need a car, as the bus network allows you to explore the Peak District.

After a hard day's walking or sightseeing, come home to the cosy cottage, which has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

What makes this property unique

A stone's throw from Bakewell, yet very quiet.

Central heating throughout, and cast iron gas stoves ensure that you have a cosy welcoming stay.

The property has been renovated to a high standard, but retains the old world charm of a Georgian townhouse.
