Formidable !

Beautiful location
Very well equipped, nothing at all lacking. Secure garden for dog. Sparkling clean. Comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Photos make the interior look smaller than it is. Excellent property.

Lovely comfortable house
Roangorm is a lovely. very comfortable house in a beautiful location. Great views and some good places to walk. Managed a small amount of kayaking from the nearby beach but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate this time. Still we had a relaxing week.

Roangorm is a well-presented house in a beautiful setting.u
The setting is wild but not completely isolated. The house sits a few hundred yards above a rocky-Sandy beach. The location affords truly magnificent views of sea , islands and mountains. We enjoyed mostly sunshine during our stay but I imagine that the house would provide a very pleasant refuge in bad weather. A shop in the village provides a variety of supplies, but it’s not open on Sundays. There is another, apparently open all week, a few miles away. The lovely winding road from the A835 to the house takes between 30-45 minutes to drive and then it’s 10 miles to Ullapool. The route provides beautiful, dramatic scenery.. There’s plenty of bird life evident in the garden and surroundings. We enjoyed our stay and made trips to Lochinver, knockan Crag, a couple of local beaches and to Ullapool for a day’s ferry trip to Stornaway.

My husband is local to the Achiltibuie area and I am from the Black Isle, just outside Inverness. We have been running our self catering business since 1994 with property here and in the black isle.

Why they chose this property

This property is special to us as we built it ourselves in the ninties and it is a wonderful house with many happy memories for all the family. Perfect place for kids with the big private garden and just run down the croft and you are at the beach with has fantastic rock pools and sand when the tide is out. Safe place for swimming when the weather is kind and for the brave when it is not. We do not accept pets as we are sheep farmers and we have sheep around and it is too much worry for us. Lambing time is late here, april so it is nice to see the lambs playing in the fields. You are welcome to wander around the croft near the house. The belong to us so enjoy the walks along the shore and hopefully you will catch the sight of some otters and seals. If you want the place to come and recharge your batteries and just to get away from it all, Roangorm is the perfect choice. Visitors return each year to get away from the city and to soak up the Badenscallie area. Cant think of a better place to be - on a sunny day or a rainy day, just have the right clothes and off you go - on your walk.
