French Manor House in tiny village near Boulogne sur Gesse, Haute Garonne, Midi Pyrenees with large garden and pool, in a small village, not isolated but completely private. Located in the prettiest countryside with views across undulating wooded hillsides to the stunning Pyrenees, one hour to Toulouse or the mountains, several market and bastide towns 10 to 30 minutes away.

This wonderful, warm, light house with 3.2m high ceilings and endless original features, has 5 comfortable bedrooms, dining room with french windows to SW terrace and garden, drawing room and little sitting room. There is plenty of room for family and friends to gather but equally space to dissipate and enjoy quiet space. This is a family house thus is well equipped and set up for family living. Located one hour to the SW of the cultural city of Toulouse and close to the Pyrenees in the rolling Comminges region not far from historic bastide town of Aurignac with an organic weekly market, shops and restaurants. The house and private 11m swimming pool are surrounded by south facing gardens and terraces. Situated close to Spain and just 2 hours from both the Mediterranean and Atlantic, both coasts are easily accessible for day trips. Prices include garden and pool maintenance if letting for more than 2 weeks. Just one hour from Toulouse should guests wish to benefit from the rich cultural life of this renaissance city with its famous opera house, concert halls and markets.

About Sally

After having lived in London for 20 years, and then Hong Kong for 2 years, we moved to France in 2002, to experience some gascon country life and to give our 4 children, then aged between 7 and 12, the opportunity to speak french fluently. We now have a foot in 2 (contrasting) camps, London and Charlas, recently we have found that we are increasingly tied to UK with work, study and family commitments therefore our beautiful house is available for the enjoyment of others for their precious holidays. A house should live and be lived in.

Why Sally chose Charlas

This is a beautiful stone house of elegant proportions yet not stuffy or formal, situated in the middle of a tiny village with open views across pretty rolling countryside to the Pyrenees, a perfect house for friends and family holidays or get - togethers, large enough to accomodate multi generations or up to 3 families. Wonderful inside/outside living, there are french windows to the garden on all sides , 5 large double bedrooms with 3 shower/bath rooms, It must be stressed that this is a lived-in family house that has been our home for 12 years, thus it is fully equipped for families with children of all ages but maybe a 'little worn at the edges'.

The area offers easy access to the Pyrenees for skiing in the winter, walking and other mountain activities in the summer, there are many lovely walks and proper local weekly markets.
