About this property

Mountain Slice of Paradise Near The Big Hole River Lodging for Friends & Family

The Ranch house is 3400 sq. ft. cedar western ranch style home. Open beam and vaulted ceilings highlight the large great living room, game room and kitchen. This four bedroom ranch house has a king sized bed in the master bedroom with a huge walk in closet, and bathroom with shower. The second room will sleep 6, it has 4 twin beds and a bunk bed. The third room has a full sized bed. Room 4 has a full size bed, and a small pull out couch in it. This Ranch house is set up perfect to keep the kids and cousins in there separate rooms while the parents get their own. There is a garage connected to the ranch house.

This area in Montana has thousands of miles of trails and roads for four wheeling, biking, dirt biking, jeeping, side by sides, hiking, walking, horseback riding and much more. There is a horse corral located near the ranch house to keep your horses, and the property is fenced in all around the ranch.

The ranch house is set up in a unique family style way with having the whole upper portion of the House to be open with the kitchen dinning room living room and game area all in one large open space. Jerry Creek ranch would be great for multiple family get-togethers, family reunions, and even for hosting smaller weddings in the large field and yard area.

The Big Hole River is about one mile down the road and is known for its plentiful amount of trout and fish. The Big Hole river has been a destination for serious trout fisherman since the late 1880s the river holds healthy wild populations of brook, rainbow and brown trout which were first introduced into the Big Hole in late 1880s as hatchery operations began in Butte and Bozeman, Montana. Native Mountain Whitefish are also prevalent in the river. Big Hole river has a large variety of fish that can be caught. The Big Hole river is the ONLY river in the lower 48 states which has fluvial arctic greyling which are native to the Big Hole. Jerry Creek which runs right along the cabin is also a great fishing spot and has smaller and decent sized rainbow, cutthroat, and plenty of brook trout. Jerry Creek is a smaller narrower creek which can sometimes be challenging but fun to fish. Around the wise river area there are tons of mountain creeks and lakes that can be fished, most of theses lakes and creeks can be accessed by motorized vehicles but some of these lakes are only horseback accessible or hike in only, but these lakes and creeks are excellent day adventures.

Many people like taking the pioneers mountain national scenic by way which is a 49 mile route that goes from wiseriver to hwy 278 between Dillion and Jackson, which this route is can be made a round trip and is excellent for motorcyclist, bikers, sightseers and many more. The Big Hole Battle field is also about 50 miles away.

We have owned this property since 2001, which my family is originally from Minnesota and live there now, but Jerry Creek Ranch is their favorite spot to come out for the summers to relax, four wheeler, and fish. As the kids are getting older everyone does not have enough time to spend out here at Jerry Creek. We loved the area so much we have purchased some other property in the area, but our Jerry Creek Ranch location is our favorite of them all. Any questions feel free to call any time. Secluded Rustic Cabin Close to The Big Hole River
Ten of us stayed here to fish the Big Hole River. Beautifull setting and views. House is a little old but for fishermen and hunters this place is great.

Us in Montana
There were 8 of us to enjoy this wonderful cabin in a breathtaking setting. Everything was provided and there was room to be together or separate as needed. . The only things not provided were nightlights and the tp could use an upgrade. But it was a great experience and we loved it.

About the host

Host profile image
I have been in this area since 1998 visiting my sisters who live in the Wise River area. Ever since visiting, I have fallen in love with this land and purchased The Jerry Creek Ranch in 2001. I have four children and seven grand children who enjoy coming out to the ranch. As time has passed, it has become harder for the family to come out to enjoy the ranch life style. My families roots are based in Northern Minnesota, we have a strong heritage in logging, milling, resorts and recently rustic cabin furniture.

Why they chose this property

The Jerry Creek Ranch sits on the famous Jerry Creek which is just upstream from The Big Whole River. The Jerry Creek Ranch sits on over 600 hundred acres and is a working ranch. The best part about this ranch is a guest can experience the ranch life from the balcony without any of the labor. The Jerry Creek Ranch lies in a secluded valley, just shy of the mountains. The ranch is a great place to enjoy tranquillity and scenery. Jerry Creek is known for great four wheeling, utving (side x sides), snowmobiling, hiking, camping and ranching. This is a great escape from the fast pace of society and brings a true peace to your life.

What makes this property unique

The most Unique Benefits from Jerry Creek Ranch is the mountain views, the rising and setting sunsets, the wildlife roaming the fields, and large the trout pond. Close enough to town, but far enough away for the privacy of an escape.
