About Margie Bridges
Garrett and Laura moved to Winter Park shortly after they were married and both found employment in the Central Florida area. They were immediately taken with the charm of Winter Park, especially the historic College Quarters area surrounding Rollins College, as it is nestled among tall oak trees with views of Lake Virginia. They found their dream home, a 1925 bungalow, and over time welcomed 4 children into their family. As their family grew, so did their need for a larger home. Unwilling to say goodbye to their first home and their wonderful neighbors, Garrett and Laura decided to enter the world of vacation rentals until they can one day return to the house they love so much. Their hope is that you too will find this bungalow and this neighborhood to be a special place to stay!
Margie Bridges purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Margie Bridges chose Winter Park
Only two blocks from Park Avenue, this historic bungalow home is perfectly situated for all of your vacation needs! Stroll the Avenue and its unique boutiques, dine al fresco at one of the many delicious restaurants, relax in Central Park, take a ride on the Scenic Boat Tour, shop the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, or enjoy a night of entertainment at the local Cineplex or playhouse. Visitors to Rollins College will enjoy the convenient one block walk to campus. This home is also conveniently located to Downtown Orlando, the brand new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Amway Center, and Citrus Bowl. If theme parks are your thing, you can be to Sea World, Universal, and Disney within 30 - 45 minutes. Beach lovers will appreciate the proximity to New Smyrna and Cocoa Beaches.
What makes this Cottage unique
This charming home has been renovated with all the modern conveniences but still maintains its historic charm. It is located on a quaint street that runs into beautiful Lake Virginia, part of the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. Walk down to the lake to take in a glorious sunrise! The surrounding neighborhood is perfect for long walks and runs. At dusk, let the screened in front porch call your name to enjoy a glass of wine or head out to the side patio and fire up the grill for dinner. On cold nights, light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy the stars above as you snuggle up with your special someone.

Nice stay ....
We were in town for our granddaughters baptism and my husband, my mother, and I stayed at the cottage. The home is very comfortable and the rooms are much larger than the photos show. The location is great and very convenient to the Park Avenue shops and restaurants. Maggie was very responsive when needed.
We will definitely use this property again.
Great house in beautiful historic and quiet neighborhood!
We really enjoyed this spacious home near Rollins College campus. Great location, tasteful and attractive decor, close to campus and restaurants and shopping. Super stay and we look forward to coming back!
Beautiful home away from home
What a lovely home away from home this was. The house was very clean with plenty of room and had all the amenities we needed for our 5 night stay. We were visiting the area to celebrate Easter and our son's High School Spring break. We visited St. Margaret Mary Church on Easter Sunday and then had breakfast at a restaurant in walking distance on Park Ave. Over the course of our stay we took long walks and enjoyed dinner at the house and at a couple local restaurants. We visited Orlando Universal Studios two days which was only a half hour ride. Although we had fun at the park, we always enjoyed returning home to relax, read a book and enjoy our down time. The home had a washer and dryer which is always a bonus because we didn't have to pack as much and I could do laundry before returning home. We highly recommend this home. It was well managed by Margie who was very responsive to messages/questions. We hope to return to this house for another stay.
Beautiful Winter Park house
Really enjoyed staying here. Very spacious, beautiful rooms. Extremely clean.
Kitchen is perfect. Loved having coffee from the beautiful white cups.
Great location. Close drive to Wekiva Springs, Universal Studios. Nice neighborhood.
Margie (owner) was welcoming. Never had to call her though - everything worked perfectly well.
Great location, beautifully appointed!
What a lovely home! Lovely, bright, and cheerful. Management was attentive and helpful! We felt like we were being spoiled.
Great location...Will return!
This "cottage" has more storage than most homes! It's laid out nicely and both bedrooms have a king bed. Margie has provided everything you could want: foil, every type of kitchen gadget, more towels than you could ever use, etc. You can walk just about anywhere from this house (The Ravenous Pig is so close)! We will definitely be back!
