Overview

About the property

Welcome to Hutchison Station, our renovated 1890’s train depot. Explore the horse farms, Bourbon trail and central KY while staying on our working thoroughbred horse farm right in the heart of the bluegrass.

Hutchison Station was part of the L&N railroad system between 1890 and 1950 with passenger and freight service between Lexington and Paris. It was the center of the local community and included a post office, 2 blacksmith shops, general store and cattle pens.

Hutchison station is divided into two ground floor apartments. The “Limerick” (named for Lisa’s event horse) has hardwood flooring throughout, 12’ ceilings and is furnished with local handcrafted and antique furniture. The Limerick has two en-suite bedrooms each with a king size bed. The living area includes counter seating for four plus table seating for four.

Hutchison station is approx half way between Lexington and Paris-

• 10 minutes to downtown Paris.

• 15 minutes to the Kentucky Horse Park

• 20 minute to downtown Lexington.

John-George and Sadie our miniature donkeys happily accept treats.

Free wifi.

Delightful!

  • 5 of 5

This stay was everything I'd hoped it would be. The house is gorgeous and so wonderfully decorated and appointed. The farm is stunning and at all times of day, an amazing view. There were homemade cookies and cute donkeys to greet us. 😊? I had helpful and friendly interaction with Steve on a few questions I had. This place seems way out in the country, but is a quick 10-15 min ride into Lexington. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Awesome, again!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, together with my sister and her husband, just returned from a family reunion weekend in Lexington, and again stayed at this beautiful property. It was most comfortable for the four of us with plenty of room, lovely furnishings, and quiet, peaceful surroundings. We loved watching the horses, their colts, and the sheep in the pasture! So relaxing. Steve and Lisa are amazing hosts and were very helpful in directing us around the area and to the best restaurants! We said it before and we’ll say it again: We will stay here anytime we’re in Lexington if availability allows!

City Slickers

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just returned from KT, by far this was the nicest VRBO we have stayed at. The artwork, spaciousness, tub, beds--everything was awesome. The best however, was how engaged my kids were at the farm. Lisa and Steve are amazing, they were so kind to the kids--truly an amazing experience for my city dwelling kids! We also checked out Clover Hill farm for riding lessons and ate and enjoyed a blue grass band and Windy Corner. Such and unexpected amazing time was had by all. My son is missing Baby the mini horse terribly...

Awesome -- Wonderfully Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Great place to relax, renew and rest,. surrounded by the greatness of Kentucky horse farms. We enjoyed the beautifully decorated condo. While modern it was warm and cozy. The living area was spacious. Plus the on suite bathrooms were great.

Lisa and Steve were great hosts.

We would go back!
