This beautifully decorated Guest House is located on the rear portion of a 5-acre luxury property and features a separate driveway, a separate entrance and ample covered parking. Hunkered down amidst native desert fauna and landscaping. Picturesque views include some of the best in all of Scottsdale: tranquil mountain vistas from the patio and rooftop viewing area; blooming desert flora all around; wildlife such as jackrabbits, coyotes, javelina, cardinals, cactus wrens, Deer and more! Whether you come to Scottsdale to enjoy the world-class golf courses, the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction, the Arabian horse show, Cactus League Spring Training Baseball games, the designer shopping, the award-winning restaurants, or hiking or biking the hundreds of trails, you will really enjoy relaxing here after all the activities.

About Judy Sorensen

Judy is a Phoenix native who grew up in the city and over the years yearned to reside in the North Scottsdale area to get closer to nature. She's a loving mother of two and grandmother of three who is very active in walking, hiking, fundraising for cancer research. She works in the Commercial/National Title Insurance industry for a Fortune 500 company and has for 35+ years all the while adding on to this gem of an escape. The cozy confines of the Mariposa Grande 'ranch' still host family events, friendly gatherings and holiday get-togethers. But there's no livestock at this ranch. The only 'wrangling' that happens is the rounding up of good times and fond memories. She travels to Mexico where she owns a home on the beach and has many family vacations there as well.

Judy Sorensen purchased this estate in 2007

Very nice Casita and great location! Not too far out, but far enough to be away from the city noise and congestion. The sunsets and city lights were beautiful from the patio. Also great spot for viewing the wildlife. The quail and jackrabbits were especially plentiful. We were also lucky enough to see a couple road runners and a couple cardinals. A great time was had by all and we hope to return soon.

Can’t say enough about this property and it’s owners. The home and property were beautiful and well cared for. There are great restaurants and hiking nearby or you can relax by the pool or on the back porch with a wonderful desert view. Judy and Tim are great folks and we look forward to our next visit!

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a nice review. Unfortunately we did not hear from you but would’ve been glad to show you how to operate the coffee pot. I actually did test it and it is working fine. We hope that you will return to our resident Kaseeta for a future trip.

A Sparkling Jewel In The Midst Of The Sonoran Desert

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a cozy yet spacious, beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained place with lots of amenities, you need look no further! We stayed here for 2 weeks in July and never once felt the need to have something that wasn't already provided on the property. Responsive, caring owners who live right on the property, they are there if you need something, but otherwise respect your privacy. The casita is very charming and has all the modern amenities one could hope for to have a very enjoyable stay. We found it to be the perfect mix of peaceful seclusion and things to do conveniently located close by. You will need to have a car if you stay here.

A few of our suggestions include watching the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from the spacious patios or rooftop deck. Take a nature walk through the pristine desert. Visit one or many of the nearby great restaurants. Scottsdale has over 900 restaurants; many of them with very gifted chefs. Lounge around by the pool all day. Visit the Aquarium, the Musical Instruments Museum, the Cosanti Foundation, the Penske Racing Museum or the Butterfly Wonderland. If you are feeling the need to explore a bit further away, Arcosanti is located a short drive away. Sedona is a very beautiful place about a 90 minute drive away. Tucson is also a beautiful spot with the professionally restored Mission San Xavier del Bac and also De Grazia Gallery of the Sun which is a museum that pays homage to the late Ted De Grazia.

Judy, and Tim, thank you for your kindness and all the special touches you provided to make our stay over the top special. We hope to stay with you again.

Absolutely amazing! This is a real gem!

  • 5 of 5

The property is magnificent. The beds are large and comfy and the bathrooms and kitchen have your basic needs which is always nice. We love the furnishings indoor and out, the pool chairs, umbrellas, and landscaping, and the view from the casita's roof is completely breathtaking. Our booking was as smooth as it gets, we received all the info needed for our stay and we had no issues whatsoever. We even asked for a late check out and the owner was happy to allow it although flight changes sadly pulled us from this lovely retreat early. I highly reccomend, you will not be disappointed!
