About Elaina

We moved into this home in 1999 when our son was just a toddler. It is a beautiful home and a beautiful area with so much to do inside and outside the home. We absolutely love it up here! It is a very warm and inviting home that we believe you will enjoy as much as we do! We only open up my home during the summer months (May - September) as a vacation rental when we are planning extensive vacations ourselves. We can, however, rent out one of the spare bedrooms during other times of the year on an individually considered basis.

Elaina purchased this estate in 1999

Why Elaina chose Florissant

When we first came out to look at this property it simply felt like home. From the minute we drove up the driveway with the backdrop of Aspen trees behind the house and during the time we were inside the house, it had a warm and welcoming feel! The high quality of the Town and Country Cedar Home is very much apparent in this home! It is simply a great home! Couple that with all of the outdoor recreational activities available, situated right next to the Pike National Forest and centrally located in Colorado, we couldn't ask for more!

What makes this estate unique

With the character of the custom Town & Country open floor plan bordering the Pike National Forest and at the end of a cul-de-sac plus centrally located in Colorado allows you a great place to enjoy without going anywhere else or a great place to come back to after exploring any part of Colorado while on vacation! (From this home you will be just 2 hours to Denver, 1 hour to Colorado Springs, 1 hour to Canon City, 4 hours to Pagosa Springs, 1.5 hours to Breckenridge, 4 hours to Grand Junction, 3.5 hours to Trinidad!)

Quiet,Spacious, beautiful, Fun and owner very accommodating and helpful, Kids loved it too!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome family reunion! We stayed 10 days at end of July and first week of August. We came from across the country to see each other for the first time for some of the kids. Our son who is being stationed in Hawaii and family knew it may be awhile before we saw each other again. We took this time in a huge home in beautiful surroundings to get to know each other again.

The eleven mile lake where we went fishing is gorgeous too. We were able to decide to stick around the property to let the kids play outside or read or play games (which was well stocked with different books and games for all ages) when it was raining.

Although it is pretty far back on a dirt road, we all were able to drive to Colorado Springs to the Garden of the Gods and to Cripple Creek (Molly Kathleen mine tour, train ride and Heritage Center) and Woodland Park to shop and get groceries. Florissant Fossil beds hiking on their trails

The cooking of course seemed non-stop with so many of us and there was enough of every type of dishes, cups, pans, utensils, etc.

We used the hot tub and the wood burning stove. Very nice!

We hope we will be able come back again. It was good to get out of the heat for all of us and enjoy the cooler weather of the mountains in Colorado.

Thank you again Elaine for sharing your wonderful home. Hope to see you again.

Wonderful, homey retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous time at this beautiful, homey property. We cooked breakfast and dinner each day, and we had everything we needed for preparation. After sight seeing during the day, it was so nice to be able to return to the relaxing hot tub. We were greeted by humming birds each morning and, we even had deer visit on our last morning!

Our family shared the cabin with my brother in law's family. Total of 10 of us, and we had plenty of room and beds. Beautiful location with tons of things to do in the cabin for the kids. Would definitely stay at this property again.

Very enjoyable stay for two couples and their dogs. At the end of the street on some backcountry roads and very nicely secluded. Suited our needs and close to some beautiful areas and fishing spots. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything!

Had a blast!!

  • 4 of 5

We brought a multi-generational group, mom and dad, three siblings, one boyfriend, and grandma, three well-behaved dogs, and a horse in order to spend some time together before everyone scatters to their respective colleges. It was fun to have a family sing with grandma playing the piano after supper. The game room was worth its weight in gold. We must have played 100 games of pool. Shopping in Woodland Park was fun. The Lake George Pizzeria was utilized for dinner the night of our fantasy football draft. The home provided lots of room to spread out but still be together. The large fenced back yard was perfect for the dogs. Our husky spent more time outdoors then he ever does at home. The hummingbirds were wonderful to watch. We had a great time at this property. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

Mountain vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home and found it to be everything we were looking for. Peace and quiet and solitude with great views and access to great fly fishing, Pikes Peak and the nice local towns that Colorado is famous for. My son and his wife brought their 2 well behaved dogs who had plenty of room to romp and gophers to chase. We saw enough wildlife to satisfy everyone and the scenery was spectacular. Overall, a good time was had by everyone.
