About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 3-5

This cozy cottage is a lovely oceanside escape on British Columbia’s beautiful Sunshine Coast, just a couple of hours away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver.

Enjoy the deck, hot tub and barbeque as you relax beside the ocean, gazing at the seals, bald eagles and scenery of BC's beautiful Malaspina Strait, or take a few steps and enjoy a campfire right beside the ocean on your private beach. Don’t be surprised to find deer grazing in the yard.

The cottage provides a wonderfully serene getaway, but if you feel the urge to wander, it is close to many coastal activities and amenities, including; hiking trails, kayak rentals, fishing charters, grocery/liquor store, a waterfront pub, and the best fish and chips on the Sunshine Coast.

We had a great time during our long weekend at this lovely cottage. The cottage was perfect. Very cozy and comfortable with amazing views and sunsets (which are best enjoyed from the front deck hot tub!). The location is great too. Definitely worth a visit!

Stunning location and very well appointed cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 3-night stay at this cottage. The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We spent lots of time enjoying the view from the comfort of the hot tub and deck. Even when the weather took a turn for the worse the large windows allow you to continue enjoying the view. We saw lots of dear, raccoons, seals and otters and loved exploring the rocky beach for treasures.

We ate in most nights and found everything we needed to cook up a feast. The location was convenient for what we wanted to explore. We will certainly be glad to return to this cottage in the future!

THE SUMMER OF OUR LIFES

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cozy and honest oceanfront cabin for two month from mid June to mid August 2017 and really had the summer of our lifes. We are a family from Berlin, Germany with two kids (6 & 3 years) and always dreamt of coming to the beautiful coast of BC.

The Cross Tree cabin turned out to be the perfect choice for our visit. The view is just breathtakingly beautiful and the beach is a perfect playground with loads of wood-treasures to collect, starfish and crab to find. Animal sightings included Seals, Sea Lions, Eagles, Deer, Hummingbirds, Racoons and many more. Binoculars were provided….

The cabin was cozy, yet spacious enough for all of us and provided everything we needed to enjoy the summer. Everything was working fine and was really clean when we arrived. Nothing was too shiny so we would be afraid that our kids would break or ruin it. The terrace was equipped with a decent gas BBQ and has sun all day until it sets behind Texada Island. Around the hut is a little garden with tons of blackberries and a little grass to play or just relax on. We did enjoy the hot tub only on the few rainy days we had but it was a real treat.

The booking/payment procedure was very easy and any question was quickly and friendly answered by the owner Todd.

The area offered many activities for all of us. Perfectly warm lakes (Hotel Lake is just 5min walking, with Kids: Katherine Lake 10min by car), shorter and longer hikes, boat rentals, restaurants in nearby Garden Bay, fishing, Yoga and Pilates classes at Ruby Lake. We made trips to Sechelt, Gibsons, Powell River, Skookumchuck Rapids and many more and the Cabin turned out to be a perfect starting point for all those adventures. Coming from a big city we enjoyed the tranquility and silence at the northern tip of the Sunshine Coast and spent long evenings just looking at the sea, the passing boats and the stars.

We highly recommend this place and hope to be able to come back some day to this little peace of paradise.

Thanks for a lovely place to land! we loved it.

A fave for us for sure! The only issue is that we couldn't get the DVD player to work -- and since i had been there before I was perplexed!

i would love it if there were bars or something in place to help older/disabled bodies to get in and out of the hot tub... otherwise the place is clean, bright, beautiful and hasall you will need to rest, relax and even work if you need to!

Thank you!

Excellent Easter Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Cross Tree Cottage. The cottage itself is cute and cozy and is situated in such a beautiful spot with amazing views.

We lucked out with the weather and ate each meal outside on the patio, enjoying some much needed sunshine.

The hot tub also made the stay - it was so wonderful to enjoy it while also taking in the sunsets. It was clean and well maintained.

The fire pit down on the beach is a nice addition as were the "happy hour seals" who would swim by and say hello each evening.

The cottage is clean, has excellent water, a comfy bed (only slept in the one), nice towels, and everything you need in the kitchen.

Communication with Todd was easy and everything was exactly where he said it would be. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a tranquil get-away with amazing views and lots of privacy.

If you're coming from Horseshoe Bay and want to stock up on tasty treats for your stay, check out the new Gibsons Public Market near the Gibsons Marina. They have a fabulous fish market, bakery, cheese shop, local produce, etc.
