About Bahia Beach Owner

We are a family of five in the New York metro area. Although we lead busy lives, we find time to make quick escapes to Bahia Beach.

Bahia Beach Owner purchased this villa in 2014

Why Bahia Beach Owner chose Rio Grande

Bahia Beach is a rare and incredibly special place. We discovered Bahia on a visit to Puerto Rico and the magic of the location and surroundings has kept us coming back - making the decision to become owners an easy one. You are surrounded by nature and warmth in this exclusive, five star resort setting. A quick trip from the US mainland, with numerous flights daily, you can be on the beach from the Northeast by early afternoon.

What makes this villa unique

Bahia offers something for everyone in the family. From relaxing poolside to complimentary use of the boathouse facilities, or golf and tennis, we have never found ourselves ready to leave the resort!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our party enjoyed a fantastic vacation at Las Verandas. The villa itself was beautifully decorated and in excellent condition. The kitchen was modern and very well supplied. There was a wonderful outdoor patio overlooking the golf course and palm trees that we greatly enjoyed each morning over coffee. Las Verandas has its own small, but quiet and beautiful pool very close to the villa that our family enjoyed. The overall property of Bahia Beach Resort is very well maintained and has a good variety of amenities to take advantage of. Our kids (ages 9-13) loved the nearby Boathouse that had a giant floating inflatable for kids to climb and jump off of, in addition to the kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing you can do from that spot. The beach and larger pool near the Golf Club are beautiful and were not crowded at all. All of the restaurants at the St. Regis were excellent, if reflecting hotel prices.)

Great Spring Break!

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the St. Regis Bahia Beach. The condo in Las Verandas was perfectly situated overlooking a water feature on the golf course, which provided many pleasant moments on the veranda. The condo was also beautifully furnished and maintained with all of the amenities needed. In addition, it is well-located, so we could easily jog to the Wellness Center or Beach Club. The golf cart also made it very easy to get around the resort when we were not in the mood for fitness.

We will definitely be back!

Amazing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Whether you are coming here for a weekend getaway or a longer family trip -- this place is absolutely perfect! The place was stunning with tasteful decor and perfect amenities. It was a quiet corner apartment with the right amount of privacy with a gorgeous view of the golf course. The balcony/patio area was spacious and perfect to lounge in the evening. With the golf cart, we were able to zip around the property and eat at restaurants part of the St. Regis, along with relaxing at the member pool. We would absolutely recommend this unit for both families and couples that just want a luxurious and relaxing trip to Puerto Rico. We plan to return and rent this place again and again! The staff around the property was great, spectacular views and wonderful experience overall!

First Class!

  • 5 of 5

This is a "first class" vacation spot. Everything at the Bahia Beach is wonderful -- the villa, the facilities, and the entire property.

The villa/condo unit is beautiful. When we walked through the door our first reaction was "Wow!" With three bedrooms (and 3 full bathrooms) and a large living room and outdoor veranda, there is plenty of space for families to be together, but have enough space to spread out. The kitchen is as nice as my kitchen at home and, along with the outdoor grill, makes cooking some of your own meals a nice option. The decor is modern, fresh, and upscale.

The staff at Bahia were also very accommodating. When we arrived a property manager personally met us at the door and showed us around the villa and made us feel like VIPs. A nice perk is the concierge office available to residents of the villas (separate from the St. Regis hotel concierge). We used them to help plan a snorkeling trip. They will answer any questions about Bahia or Puerto Rico. Everyone wants to help.

The facilities at Bahia are outstanding! The beach is amazing and the pool club is great. The pool is a bit smaller than some you might find at other resorts, but the beach is the real star of the show. Everything is new and clean. The Boat House in the middle of the property has bicycles, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards that are free to use. There is also an inflatable 'playground' in the water in front of the Boat House with slides and a trampoline that provided our family (2 adults - 3 kids aged 17,15,11) with many hours of fun. The fitness center and tennis courts (2 courts have lights for night play) are also excellent -- you don't even need to bring our own balls or rackets.

Finally, the entire property at the St. Regis is also worth mentioning. It's a huge property (and the golf cart that comes with the villa is fun and comes in handy) that is meticulously maintained. The landscaping along the roads, the bike paths, the pools, etc. is picture-worthy and adds to the overall feel of the place -- which we found both breathtaking and very relaxing!

Bahia Beach is paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Bahia Beach is paradise! My mother and I went down for a long weekend and were instantly relaxed after our first day. The owner provided us with great information prior to our trip (best way to get to Bahia, location of grocery store – Ralph’s – five minutes from Bahia, details on all activities, amenities happening at the St. Regis/Las Verandas that weekend, details of the Villa, Wi-Fi password, etc.) so that our trip was seamless from touchdown in San Juan!

The St. Regis Bahia Beach is set on a gorgeous part of the island and we absolutely loved staying in a villa in Las Verandas, a private residence neighborhood on the St. Regis grounds. The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom villa is absolutely beautiful and provides all of the comforts of home with access to five-star amenities, activities, and gorgeous scenery. The villa has top of the line, elegant décor and comfortable accommodations, inside and out, with ample seating on the patio overlooking the golf course. It's a perfect villa for families on vacation or getaways with friends or couples. With access to a six-person golf cart, you can explore the grounds and easily drive or walk to the private pool, private fitness center (for those staying in Las Verandas), lake with a water trampoline and jungle gym, or dash to the private beach club (minutes away!) where you have access to a newly renovated pool and gorgeous, white-sand private beach. My mom and I explored all (and loved all!) of the above while we were there – we even participated in the first spin class at the St. Regis Bahia Beach! You can also reach the St. Regis hotel within minutes, where you can (and should!) enjoy a champagne toast at 6pm and feed the fish in the koi pond. We spent most of our time at the private beach, where you have access to an outdoor bar and restaurant. However, the incredibly friendly staff came to us on the beach and offered to bring us cocktails (I recommend the Mojito!), other beverages, various food options, and also provided us with refreshing, coconut-scented misters and towels, which were wonderful to have, especially mid-afternoon!

We enjoyed dinner in one night and went to Fern (a Jean Georges restaurant) on Saturday night, which was wonderful! We stayed on the grounds of the St. Regis Bahia Beach / Las Verandas the whole weekend, as the beach and amenities were worth indulging for the entire weekend! What was a long weekend felt like a five-day vacation, and we loved every minute. We can't wait to go back!

Luxurious and Spacious - Best of Both Worlds!

  • 5 of 5

What a special place! We stayed here last week for our late April Break and had the most fabulous time. Where to begin… the property itself is absolutely breathtaking and the villa is immaculate. Being a family of 5, with 3 kids aged 7-11, we often have a difficult time finding a hotel room that meets our needs. If we want to stay at a luxury hotel, we either have to rent a suite or rent 2 adjoining rooms. Both options are often costly and not ideal. Las Verandas is truly the best of both worlds. We had 3 big, beautiful bedrooms, 3 full baths, a gorgeous terrace overlooking the golf course, a new clean kitchen AND had the luxury of enjoying the amenities of a 5 star resort. The entire property is enormous. Getting around in the 6 person golf cart was not only super fun but also very practical. While hotel guest often waited for transfers to and from parts of the resort, we had the freedom to come and go as we pleased. There are so many different activities to choose from. We loved the Boathouse and Nature Center which is situated on a clean natural lake. My kids couldn't get enough of the floating water slide and trampoline. We took out bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards. The brand new clubhouse has a beautiful pool and is right on the beach. Molasses restaurant is at the clubhouse and also provides pool and beach side drink and dining service. Heaven! In addition, Las Verandas has its own pool which we had all to ourselves. We also liked heading to the hotel for the daily champagne saboring ritual, koi feeding, and to enjoy the grounds. Our kids went to the Iguana Kids Club for 2 mornings and loved it. They didn't want to leave. The tennis facilities and fitness center are amazing. I can't say enough. After a fun-filled day of activities, it was really nice to come back to a large, beautiful space to relax. The flatscreen tv's in each bedroom were a big hit with our kids and allowed us all to have some down time. The dining options at the resort were really great, but it was also nice to eat at the villa when we wanted to. We did leave the resort one day to go zip lining in the rainforest and visit the kiosks in Loquillo, which was really fun. Other than that, we stayed on property and took advantage of everything Bahia Beach has to offer. We were never at a loss for activities. We could have easily stayed another week. We can't wait to come back to this amazing villa in paradise!

Second time even better than our first visit

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 had been to Bahia the year before and stayed at the hotel. It was a superlative experience but there were a few suboptimal aspects to our stay, particularly the dining options. Our kids range in age from 14 to 2 and the dining options at the hotel were limited and very expensive, albeit of high quality. You can't bring a 2 year old to dinner at these restaurants and enjoy yourself or for that matter w/out imposing on the experience of other diners. Wanting to be respectful we would leave the 2 year old w/a 14 year old in our room and get them room service. The 14 year is a growing boy and eats 3 dinners in one sitting no problem, which translates into $$$$. We also like eating as a family, particularly at the end of a fun day to hear about what everyone did. The Villa has a beautiful kitchen and we stocked up at the market nearby. This allowed us a lot of flexibility in terms of how and when we dined. We took advantage of the restaurants and pool snack bar but on our terms. The Villa itself is fantastic. Large, well appointed, lovely view of the course and a pond/lagoon. In fact you can paddle board right up to the back from the boat house (where you get bikes) if you want. Plenty of space for the kids and there is a pack & play if you have an infant. The veranda is super chill and large with lots of comfortable seating and a pergola. There is also a gas grill. The community pool is great and has a billiards table and there is a small lawn w/mini soccer goals adjacent to it. The Club pool is beautiful and has every amenity. Beach is world class. I don't normally drink fruity drinks but the pina colada was a glass full of happiness. The health/fitness center is top shelf. There is a room for spinning plus treadmills and ellipticals etc... One of the highlights is feeding the ducks, turtles and Koi that live in the pond behind the fitness center. Smoothie bar, tennis pro shop are good too. Golf course is nice but expensive. Loaner clubs are free (Calloway) as is unlimited use of the driving range. Service around the 'campus' is first rate. Having the 8 seater gold cart is a huge help and my 11 year daughter now wants one at home. There is daily maid service and the unit has a washer/dryer so no need to overpack. When compared to the rates at the hotel, the villa is a real value. Easy 25 minute drive from SJ airport and convenient to tourist spots if you want to go 'off campus'. Can't say enough good things.
