New Classic Grand Turk Beach House

Bedrooms 1
Space 74 m²
Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

If you are looking for a small, intimate island with awesome diving and a beautiful relaxed atmosphere, come to Grand Turk.

The pure white beach is just a few barefoot steps away and a mindblowing sunset visits every day.

Some people come to Grand Turk for the world-class SCUBA diving (I did), others for the superb fishing, others just to relax and enjoy the island life, untroubled in the sun.

Blue Breeze was built as both a vacation rental and a permanent residence, so it has a full kitchen and all the conveniences you would expect in a home. It was built new from the ground up in 2014, but the architecture owes much to the traditional architecture of the Islands.

The wraparound porch is fully screened from the front to the back, so dinner or an evening cocktail outdoors can be fully enjoyed.

A cooling breeze keeps the house very comfortable most of the time, but there are ceiling fans and air conditioning throughout, so there is always refuge from the afternoon heat.

The master bedroom has a king bed, and the living room has a futon couch, which folds out to a queen size bed. The house sleeps four people comfortably.

Coffee is available 3 ways - drip, french press, and espresso.

Two bikes are available to explore this wonderful small island.

About The Owner

I have been visiting Grand Turk for the spectacular diving since 2007, and every time back I have been more captivated by the special magic of this tiny relaxed island.

Finally, I decided to build my home away from the crowds and hustle here.

The Owner purchased this house in 2013

Great house in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Blue Breeze was the ideal place for us for a week away from our home in New Orleans. We watched fishermen bring in their catches every day to a cleaning station just across the street and bought freshly filleted snapper from them every day. The house is very well equipped - everything you need in the kitchen, a washer/dryer, brand new bikes in the garage, and lots of high quality touches (great sharp knives and an espresso maker in the kitchen, and giant fluffy towels that my wife is still talking about). Opening up the doors in the front and back of the house brings in a fresh easterly breeze, and the front porch feels like a natural extension of the living room. It was our first trip to the Caribbean, and I feel very lucky to have landed up in this place. We biked all over the island from end to end, often finding us to be the only ones around. No big resorts teaming with tourists here. Cruise ships bring groups in for packaged daily activities, but they're all gone by mid-afternoon. I would highly recommend Brian and Sabine at the Humpback Dive Shack for diving/snorkeling/whale watching trips - wonderful, friendly folks. We also enjoyed meeting Lisa, who lives across the street and manages the property. She gave us lots of good information and was there if we needed anything. We hope to be back. Thanks, Eric!

Comfort, Quality and Convenience on Grand Turk

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a comfortable place to relax, quality amenities and a convenient location to beach and town RENT THIS HOUSE. My wife I stayed here for eight nights and it was perfect for us. You will see breathtaking beaches, enjoy delicious local cuisine and meet some of the kindest people (if you can break yourself away from the incredible screened-in porch). The house is a few blocks north of the center of town, an easy walk or bike ride. You can be on the beach in two minutes by walking across the street.

The porch has a double hammock, a table and four comfortable chairs. It was the perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee and evening drinks while watching the world go by. Friendly people walk up and down the street and always return a hello and a wave. When the cruise ships are in, the porch is a fun place to observe the cruise passengers come to town on their segways, ATV’s and tour buses. You will be glad you are spending 7 days instead of 7 hours on Grand Turk!

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. It has heavy duty pots and pans, nice dishes and glassware, a gas range and a new fridge with icemaker. Coffee lovers will enjoy the burr grinder, nice coffee maker and brand new espresso machine. A grocery store is right around the corner, and the fish market is across the street. Reserve one night to purchase fresh fish. The boats come in around 6 and the local friends we met helped us purchase two beautiful fish. They were filleted right in front of us and cooked to perfection on our new gas grill- heaven! The bed, linens, pillows and towels were top-notch. We let in the tropical breeze during the day by opening the heavy wooden doors in the front and back, then turned on the air conditioning in the bedroom for a cool, quiet night’s sleep.

We did a lot of exploring via foot, and made good use of the brand new bikes provided with this house. A 2 day golf cart rental was handy for exploring the lighthouse to the far north and Governor’s beach to the far south. If you like to gather sea glass, the beach near the ship wreck on Governor’s beach is paradise! You may find other objects washed into the tide from the hurricane. We brought water shoes and wore them while walking on the beach and wading in the water.

The owner, Eric, and local house manager, Lisa, are very responsive to any questions you have about the house, town or island. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

A Great Gem on Grand Turk

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed at Blue Breeze from April 8th to the 17th and had an excellent time, Eric was great to deal with and his property was ideal. All your amenities are there and the location on Grand Turk is great! What is also great about this property it is higher and not on ground level.

On ground level is only a small garage, you walk up a small set of stairs and you are on a wrap around deck with a great view of the Caribbean ocean. Tonya is just down the road if you need any help. Our favorite restarants are The Sandbar for lunch, and Jack's Shack.

The locals on the island are very friendly, a wave and a smile go a long way :) We shopped at E&R Grocery, food and beer are expensive but everything is imported.

We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back to stay at Blue Breeze.

Perfectly located

  • 4 of 5

The house is perfectly located close walk to the beach if you don't feel like travelling.

The house was clean comfortable for the 2 of us. plenty of space. Kitchen is well equipped and coffee friendly. Eric went at great length to ensure the house if comfortable. The wrap around porch with mosquito net is a great addition.

If like your privacy, it's the perfect rental versus hotels.

Thanks to Eric and Tania for making us feel welcome.

Great rental home on Grant Turk

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Blue Breeze during our stay on GT. Eric was great to work with. A taxi was waiting for us at the airport. The house was wonderful & had everything we needed. The screened in porch that wrapped around 3 sides of the home was great for relaxing or having a meal with an ocean view. The beach is just across the street beyond a small courtyard. It takes less than a minute to walk to. There is a grill on the porch if you want to cook up some locally caught fish. The house has fencing all around for a degree of privacy. Being on the 2nd floor (the 1st floor is storage) allows you to not have your view blocked. The inside of the home was very clean, roomy, & comfortable. The kitchen had all the cookware & utensils we needed during our stay. There is a grocery just around the corner where you can get basic supplies. The living room was spacious. The bed was comfortable & the shower had lots of hot water. One of the best parts of the home was opening the front & back doors & letting the ocean breeze blow through the house. Having the screened porch seemed to keep bugs out of the home while the doors were open. We had very little issue with bugs anywhere on the island during our stay. Another nice touch was the high vaulted ceilings that gave an open feel to the house. There were 2 bicycles available to get around the island, although we ended up not using them. We mostly walked and one day rented a golf cart. The caretaker, Tonya, was fantastic. She was available for anything we needed & provided us with great recommendations on places to eat & facilitated our golf cart rental as well as some other insights to what was happening on the island. Some recommendations for eating: Saturday night cook out at the Bohio Dive Resort & Sunday night cook out at the Atrium restaurant. Both featured live music. The Sandbar is a great beach bar with a fantastic view. They serve strong rum punches and great food. There are plenty of beaches to enjoy. The beach just across the street is very nice & you will most likely have it to yourself. Also south of the main town area was Governors beach which was fantastic. We only saw a handful of people while there. There is a large decaying boat beached at one end, which makes for a good photo op. North of Blue Breeze a short way is another nice beach near Bohio. There are lots of other secluded beaches to explore that we did not have time to visit. The Blue Breeze is a great place to stay & I highly recommend it.

Blue Breeze is located steps away from the pristine white sands of West Road Beach.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the sunset from the screened wraparound deck after a day diving the deep blue waters along the 7000 foot wall or snorkeling in the crystalline shallows just off the beach.

A grocery store is right around the corner, and local fishermen sell fresh fish off the boat at the fish market a short walk up the beach, so if you are inclined to make use of the kitchen, it's very convenient to stock up.
