Thats City Park in New York.
Ed Tollefsen purchased this Lodge in 2015
Why Ed Tollefsen chose Gatlinburg
We bought the property in October 2014 as a distressed foreclosure. We loved the view and the neighborhood and decided to restore this wonderful old cabin. The renovations took a life of their own as it became a bit of a rebuild. We have enjoyed bringing this 1970's property up to 21st century standards. Our goal has been to bring modern convenience while maintaining a unique country cabin feel.

Overall a great family vacation.
Beautiful view, roomy common areas. Pleasantly decorated. Appliances, sink and countertops were new and very clean. Nice linens and towels.
On the downside, bathroom sinks drained slowly, something leaked from 3rd floor into my suitcase in second floor bedroom- possibly air conditioner condensation, there were zero hangers available in a couple bedrooms and just a couple in the others, could probably use new mattresses soon however it was okay. Beautiful new deck but could probably use a good sanding. Also, there was conflicting information regarding check out procedures. One said sheets and towels in laundry room, the other to put them in tub and leave on bed or there would be charges incurred.
All in all a lovely place. Owners seemed nice in email correspondence.
Thanks for the memories.
Cobbly Nob Gem
Great property, great owner. Many upgrades in place and underway.
Property is located in the Cobbly Nob subdivision, which puts it in a beautiful area adjacent to the National Park, free swimming pools, good golf (I literally walked down the hill- but not back-to golf) and more. Yet, less than 15 minutes from the circus of downtown Gatlinburg and nearby Pigeon Forge . It is our favorite area to stay, as the views and options will beat anything downtown if you are looking to do something more memorable than just shop.
David thanks so much for your stay. Thankyou as well for the punch list of items you identified to improve the property.
As we discussed we were rebuilding the deck after your visit. Little things like mixing soft and white lights were not on my radar but addressed thanks to your pointing it out.
I believe I agreed with all of your suggestions and addressed all of them.
As with every maintenance cycle, i leave with items for my next maintenance run. I"m going to give it a couple months for the deck wood to dry then paint and likely put in stone steppers to the backyard during the next cycle.
I hope to be able to host you again in the future.
Thanks for selecting us,
Great location, easy to get to and beautiful property/ neighborhood. We had a great time at the cabin, and it had lots of room for everyone. We highly recommend this place!!
Thanks for selecting Smoky Mountain Retreats for your vacation lodging.
It was a pleasure to host you and hope to see you in the future.
Great Cabin and Great host!!
Finding the cabin was very easy. Going up to the cabin in Cobbly Nobs is fun and adventurous. Using the code and getting in was hassle free. Due to the description in the ad we could decide who is going in which room. As soon as you enter you feel it was clean and tidy. Kitchen was well equipped with all the things you will need to cook a meal. 2 coffee makers, toaster, brand new appliances. The main hall is the most beautiful place in the cabin with huge windows with the mountain view. 2 bed rooms upstairs. Master bedroom with a beautiful balcony and a morning view. Bathrooms clean and had towels and toiletries for the guest. Basement was fun for kids and adults both. Pool table, darts and a outdoor Jacuzzi. The basement bedroom has a queen bunk beds, which fit in 4 kids. Over all the cabin is kept in a very good condition with everything working. We spent a lot of time in the cabin as much as we spent outdoors as it was fun.
Finally the host, Ed. Very quick to answer questions and responsive. He made sure we had a good stay and he was very accommodating. I would give 5 stars to the host as well.
Thank you so much for your very kind and detailed review. Janan and I have a special connection to that house. Restoration turned into a passion project.
Please consider us for your future visits
Very clean and homey!
The cabin was so clean and homey. Everyone LOVED the kitchen. The beds were so comfortable. We come every year to Gatlinburg as a friend group and we’ve slept on some pretty terrible beds, these were by far the best! The driveway was a little tricky and we did a lot of car scraping on the bottom in the beginning but got the hang of everything by the end of our stay. Overall fantastic time!!
Lee, thanks for the positive comments. The driveway can be tricky. I've never had an issue scrapping even with low cars on the 2nd entrance. The first entrance however can scrap. I "cheat" the driveway coming as far to right side as you can. This has worked for many cars, both mine and a long line of rental cars. To be avoid the hassle use the 2nd entrance.
Thank you so much for staying with us.
The cabin was absolutely perfect and Ed was a great host. Thank you for letting us stay and we will surely visit again.
Thank you for taking time to rate us. We hope to see you as a return guest in the future.
