About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Enjoyed staying in this house over the weekend. It looks like the mice issue had been resolved - we stayed in the lower bedroom and didn't have any problems with mice. I'm very light sleeper and would hear the mice if they were present.

Mouse in the house

 • 2 of 5

The house itself is ok. There were a few maintenance issues like a loose banister, but adequate as a place to crash in Tahoe. However we found a mouse caught in a trap in the master bedroom, saw droppings around the house, and heard mice squeaking and running around while we tried to sleep. We eventually moved to another room. Vacasa was easy to deal with and gave a small, but still appreciated, partial refund.

Holiday Gatherings

 • 3 of 5

We had a family holiday at this house and it served us well for our needs. We did have to buy a few things for cooking after we arrived; there's a convenience store (Z market) a quick 5 minutes down the road, or back into Truckee 10-15 minutes for full grocery. Items we needed were peeler, masher, strainer, foil, scissors...
The fire place kept the main level and master cozy warm, but after the first day we opted for the forced air unit to keep the rest of the house warm - i.e. mid level bedrooms. (The fireplace will interfere with forced air thermostat.)
The main level was nice and open for gathering and playing cards, games, colorings, movies and there was room for all of us comfortably. If you're not accustomed to stairs, this house will remind you of that (If a guest is challenged by that, opt for a single level home).
The house is located in the upper part of the hills, so the winds do pick up in season, but it's also great for seeing the stars! We walked the neighborhood and many in the area enjoy the outdoors.

The property was really nice, but the home was not stocked according to description

 • 2 of 5

We were excited to use this rental for our week long spring break. There were 10 adults in total. The parking was great and the home and view were very pretty. However, I was alarmed that there were only 9 towels and 6 wash cloths. There were only 4 drinking glasses, only 1 ice tray in freezer, and 2 extra garbage bags. For 10 people, staying for a week, this was not going to work! We were out of garbage bags by the 2nd day! It clearly was not acceptable, as these items were in the "do not bring" category, because they were to be supplied! When I called with my concerns, I was basically told that someone would take care of it. I called every day for 4 days, and nothing was taken care of, until the evening of the 4th night, when the supplies were finally delivered. In the meantime, we had to buy paper cups and garbage bags, and had to share bath towels/wash cloths, and had to re-wash them every day.

The main reason why I chose this rental, was because my husband recently had back surgery, and in the description, it had a really nice master bedroom with t.v. and jetted tub, which I thought would be perfect for him to use. However, the tv in the bedroom was not hooked up to cable, and the jets in the tub did not work! We were extremely disappointed, as he was planning on spending alot of his time in this room! Also, the hot water heater was not turned up high enough. We were only able to get 2 showers in at a time, and then would have to wait about an hour for the water to heat up again. And, the home was infested with spiders the size of a quarter. We found them in our luggage, food bags, on the walls, floors and ceilings. We probably squashed 15 of them while we were there.

I was so excited for this trip, but ended up extremely disappointed. The people that rent it after us, will most likely not have a problem, since it is now properly stocked due to my unfortunate complaining. Not sure about the master tv, jetted tub, water heater or spiders though!

House with no keys..

 • 1 of 5

The house is supposed to have 2 keys. When we reached there, both the keys were not there.

called the management to let know the state. They called the local manager. The guy (or girl) never called back or showed up. This was at 8:30pm..

Fortunately Vacasa found us another house next street. Finally we found a warm house to stay.
