About this property

Lake Cle Elum Retreat

The Lake Cle Elum Retreat is nestled in the pine trees one block from Lake Cle Elum. The lake shore is available via private neighborhood access (including vehicles). Enjoy this spacious, five-bedroom home that is the ideal gathering place for family and friends. The great room presents views of Mount Baldy and glimpses of Lake Cle Elum through the large west facing windows. The house has wifi and local phone. It has a large TV in the living room but there is no cable service, so bring your laptop and connect via HDMI.
Snowmobile to over 200 miles of trails from the house and there is plenty of off street parking for your trailers (~140 feet of plowed driveway).

The home has five bedrooms (one king, two queens, three fulls), a recreation room with pool table, air hockey table, entertainment center, card table, two full bathrooms, and a deck that is perfect for relaxing and barbecuing. Winter brings many fun activities...hiking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, fat biking, and sledding. Summer is great for outdoor fun including lake shore activities (bring your own boat, paddleboard, kayak, etc. or rent then from two nearby rental shops...Cascade Playtime or the Last Resort). Also enjoy 'smores and camp fire songs at the outdoor fire pit.

Easy lake access and the neighborhood boat launch are all of a minute walk from the house at the end of the block. The lake provides swimming and boating in summer and cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and sledding in the winter. Hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobile trails are all within close proximity. Enjoy a round of golf at Prospector, the newly established Suncadia course 10 miles south of the house. A float trip on the Cle Elum and Yakima Rivers is also an exciting option.

Enjoy preparing meals at the house, dining table accommodates 12, or enjoying one of the local establishments in the historic town of Roslyn, Washington. The house is an easy hour drive to Leavenworth (quaint Bavarian village) and Yakima (known for wine tasting fun and lots of fresh produce). Do not forget the various music festivals and rodeo a half hour away in Ellensburg.

Our home is clean, functional, great for families and provides amazing access to many recreational activities. It is not luxurious (ie no granite counters, stainless appliances, heated bathroom floors, etc.) and our rates don’t compare with area homes that are newer and more modern. Know that the white basement carpet has a few stains, but is professionally cleaned each year.

Family new years
Great house for a large group. Although the house is older and worn it does offer a wonderful location, tons of space and anything you would need. Check out time is a little rushed for it being 10am but we made it work. All and all we had a great stay

Great rental with the essentials
Property was as advertised. Nothing fancy has everything necessary. The property could use a refresh here and there, kinda had a wonky layout. Great location, close to the lake (keep in mind lake is super low so it’s a bit if a walk to the water. All in all no big complaints.

Short weekend out of towm
Our family wanted to have a weekend away. The house is a great size for a group. Two kitchens! One small kitchen downstairs so you don't have to leave the fun times to go upstairs for snacks and beverages. The house has DVD's and plenty of games in the closet. If you want to play in the lake, it's a short walk to the water. It's a very nice area to go for walks. The house is nestled in a grove of trees giving it the mountain atmosphere. The area is very quiet and relaxing with a view of the lake. Location is great, it's sort drive to a Safeway if you forgot something. There is also a small store up the road that carries some supplies.

Excellent Space for Casual Family Get Together
Very spacious and comfortable lounging, dining, recreating areas. We enjoyed the long dining table for sit down meals for 12 and used it for games. There's plenty of outdoor deck seating as well and actually found the view of lake better than photo shows. Peeking through trees, but a nice view and the trees and yard were nice for shade and pretty woodsy ambiance. The neighbors was quiet. Most of our family lived in the area so we had teens and adults coming in and out for family time/meals, playing games (a really good assortment in the game closet & the pool table was great!!!). All the bed rooms/beds were used for sleeping over as schedules allowed. A few of the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable but having the sleeping spaces was important and worked out. We walked down to the lake to skip rocks and enjoyed the breeze which had kicked up enough wave action to sound like ocean waves on the rocks... Everyone had a really great time !!!!! The house is worn but suited our very casual family and was stocked with enough towels, bedding, blankets/throws, pillows. We appreciated the really well equipped kitchen for cooking all our meals (utensils, dishes, pots/pans serving pieces etc). We did bring our own basics (seasonings, foil, oil etc) The property is close to hikes, and Roslyn for going places of interest. We hope to return if we can get family calendars to line up again. Thank you for a wonderful family time space !!!

Perfect, Affordable Weekend Getaway!
Great location and property for a large group with kids for a weekend getaway. We loved being able to snowmobile from the property and walk down to the lake. Additionally, because the property is a bit outdated, it was very affordable compared to so many other properties in the area. The 2 bathrooms may make it difficult for a longer stay, but could be a personal preference too. Overall, great place!

Our family has enjoyed vacationing at Lake Cle Elum since 2002. We love mountain biking, waterskiing, hiking and playing on the lake shore in the summer and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, fatbiking, and playing in the snow in the winter months. When we are not at the lake, we live in Seattle and love cheering for the Seahawks.

Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique

There are many amazing properties in the area, but only a small handfull are this close to the lake and offer access to the lake shore.
