About this property

Light, cosy Edwardian cottage near West Wales Coast Path, Llangrannog

Light, spacious and comfortable traditional cottage near stunning heritage coastpath and beaches. Log burner for cosy evenings, South facing conservatory and garden for sunny days. Beautiful views of open countryside and great for outdoor exploring.

Foel is an Edwardian stone cottage a couple of miles from the popular beach and seaside village of Llangrannog between Newquay and Cardigan on the West Wales Coast. Perfect for exploring the stunning Ceredigion coast path, and beaches including National Trust managed Penbryn. It has convenient access to two excellent pubs, an award winning farm shop, supermarket and friendly cafes. The local ‘cardibus’ passes twice daily. Other activities include dolphin watching, kayaking, coasteering, golf, horse riding, some of the best river fishing in UK, and even dry slope skiing. You will be driving distance to North Pembrokeshire National Park, the foodie town of Newport, and attractions such as Devils Bridge, National Botanic Garden, and the thriving town of Aberystwyth.

The cottage is set on it’s own along a quiet lane amid rural pasture, about a mile from the sea, with wide views across rolling hills and dark night skies. It’s a light, spacious yet cosy house that mixes traditional and contemporary décor to provide comfortable spaces for all weathers and seasons. There’s a log burner, oak table and sofa in the dining room, and separate comfortable sitting room with two sofas. The well-equipped modern kitchen opens onto a large South facing conservatory with a table seating six, and space to relax. Two generous bedrooms upstairs provide flexible sleeping arrangements for up to five people, in one kingsize, one double and a single bed with an additional comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room downstairs (supplement required for this), enabling suitable accommodation for families or small groups, hikers and outdoor adventurers, and couples looking for a quiet retreat.

The South West facing enclosed garden has lawn with picnic bench, a sheltered walled garden in the original stone cowshed, a shallow pond, fire bowl and a games shed for safe equipment storage.

During peak periods (Christmas, Easter and school holidays), the minimum stay is 7 nights and the change over day is Friday.
Different arrangements are possible for shorter and longer stays outside peak times, please enquire.

The beauty of Wales.
Lovely country side. Not as close the the beach as I personally anticipated for the VBRO site. View of beach I thought was from the property. Sheep and cows add to the country surroundings.

Lovely property near in quiet location
We had a great stay in this very tastefully decorated cottage - which was very well equipped. Excellent communication with owners prior to our visit - with super pre visit guide. Great location for exploring the coast and surrounding area - with a pretty garden and great spots for everyone in our party to relax. Would highly recommend this property for a relaxing coastal stay.

Lovely Rural Location
A lovely rural retreat. Excellent inforamtion and communication with the owners Anna and Bruno. Some parts of the property could do with a lick of paint but I;m being picky and it is on the whole a lovely place to stay for relaxation.

The blue house
I had a very peaceful and relaxing holiday at this lovely property. I absolutely loved sitting out in the garden with no one around except the bees! The house was well kitted out with everything you'd possibly need, I would definitely love to come back. Thanks to Anna and Bruno!

Artist film-maker and academic based in Bath. We have enjoyed Foel for a few years as a perfect uncomplicated retreat to relax and unwind in nature and by the sea.

Why they chose this property

Foel is in a fantastic location and has a great feeling to it with it's wooden panelled walls, sunrise visible from the beds, bright conservatory and cosy log burner. The garden is full of different spots to play or relax with it's dry stone walls, wild planting and pond. It's the perfect mix of relaxed and cosy, light and open. The views are great, skies are dark and twinkling and the beauty of the local beaches, rugged coastline and wooded valleys keeps on delivering whatever the season. The area is very friendly, and keeps on satisfying us.

What makes this property unique

The cottage was renovated by the previous owner from a wreck. It still retains it's character, with original timber walls and an exposed fireplace, but also benefits from good insulation, traditional limeplaster walls and a conservatory! The bedrooms have stunning views of pastoral landscape, you feel away from it all, whilst the friendly village of Llangrannog with it's beach and pubs is only 2miles away.
