Holiday in the Gironde.
Excellent property with superb garden and views. We enjoyed the terrace in the evenings and the swimming pool area by day. A real bonus were the luscious tomatoes and other veg. Overall a great holiday.

A very special place
We had a wonderful fortnight at Les Roses Trémières in this lovely area of France with family members of four generations and more family in the Gite for the second week; the flexibility of having the two properties next door to each other is a great bonus. The house is stunning with a huge farmhouse kitchen and a very generous dining room in addition, so large and very jolly family meals were had each night with both households sitting round the big dining table in the second week. The house is beautifully decorated, clearly with much love and care, and we really felt as if you we were in a family home. Outside there were many choices of places to relax and enjoy the garden, so someone could sit quietly under a tree reading a book while others might be feeding children on the terrace with others having a drink at the seated area round the side of the property and again others up at the swimming pool. The garden is large, peaceful and very pleasant – small children (as one might expect) should be supervised as there is a (very quiet) lane adjacent to the property. There are wonderful views from the swimming pool over the countryside and across to the Gironde, and from the terrace a magnificent crop of wild flowers can be seen growing on the other side of the road - balm to the soul. There is a lovely vegetable garden to which the owner very generously encouraged us to help ourselves so we were able to enjoy the great variety of herbs, fruit and vegetables – we particularly loved the huge and luscious tomatoes. The owner herself was so kind; nothing was too much trouble and she even rang us from the UK to see if all was well when we arrived. She made us feel as if we were her personal guests and this made the holiday very special. There is a vineyard next door and one of the joys was going round, tasting the wine and returning with not a few bottles both to drink with our evening meals and to bring home. There is a lot to do within about 25 minutes drive and excellent restaurants nearby but it was also so pleasant being at the property that some days we might not go out at all. This is a very special place indeed and we had a marvellous holiday.

I currently live in Northamptonshire and enjoy my life in my second home, Civrac, between lettings. I enjoy travelling and also spend time with my family in Cologne, Germany and in Bath in the West Country. I have let my houses during the last 22 years for a limited period each year when I and my family plan to be elsewhere. Therefore you will find that Les Roses Tremieres and La Maison Fleurie have a lived in feel which I hope will make you feel comfortably at home !

Why they chose this property

The beautiful house, pool and garden have breathtaking infinity views over vine fields across to the Gironde Estuary. Surrounded by attractive gardens full of trees and shrubs offering plenty of shady areas urging you to lay back and relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside. If you are feeling more active, visitors are welcome to pick fruit from the trees and vegetables from my very productive vegetable garden. My tomatoes are amazing so help yourself and enjoy !!!!
The house itself is spacious, stone built and remains cool even in very hot weather. It is equipped with everything a holiday maker could possibly need.

What makes this property unique

The property is situated very conveniently to explore the area. It is just 25 minutes from a range of wonderful sandy beaches from large fine sand bays or small sheltered coves with crashing Atlantic roller beaches just a little further on.

Leisure ports on the Gironde are just 10 mins. away offering lovely walks and a choice of restaurants and cafes.
At Port Maubert you can inspect the boats, do a nature
walk or watch the local wildlife while you have a beer or meal by the water's edge and everyday you can buy
locally caught fish from the fisherman's wives who have set up a little shop in one of the houses.

At Mortagne there is always plenty going on with several places to eat and drink on the waterfront, lots of smart yachts to admire, a few little shops and quite a large antique centre to wander around. Here there is a little museum of local postcards and photos of days gone by.

Both ports are great places to take your fishing rods and try and catch something to barbecue later !
