About this property

Charming characterful cottage overlooking Cornish countryside with sea view.

Our change day within the busy summer period is Sunday for less stressful travelling. In the shoulder seasons we are more flexible as long as bookings are for five or more nights,

Treglindon is a much loved family cottage set in the hamlet of Rosecare surrounded by open countryside lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walking the South West coastal path is viable as the local coastal bus service runs through Wainhouse Corner which is a half-mile walk from the cottage..
The cottage was extended and enjoys spacious rooms which are all presented to maximise views of the surrounding garden, open countryside and the sea view down the valley. Downstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a shower room and a large double aspect lounge with three sofas, wood burning stove and sliding patio doors. The well-equipped triple aspect kitchen has sliding patio doors. Upstairs the master bedroom has two balcony Velux windows giving panoramic views (an deal place to watch the sunset) and a large well equipped bathroom with bath and shower. The whole cottage has been decorated to reflect the countryside and coastal environment using prints by local artists and Vanessa Arbutnott fabrics. Furnishings have been chosen for quality and comfort including Hypnos beds, cotton bedding, duvets and pillows. Electric blankets are available and appropriate summer/winter tog duvets. The kitchen in our ‘ home from home’ cottage is fully equipped with modern quality appliances including induction hob, fan assisted oven, microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer dryer. There is a generous supply of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils enabling easy catering for six people.
Treglindon sits at over 500 feet with stunning panoramas over the countryside down to the sea and one cannot help but be spellbound by such a natural environment. Whilst sheep fill the fields, eager-eyed and alert observers might be lucky to spy fox, deer or even stoat. The large garden is both ideal for adults, who may like to relax and soak up the tranquil scenery, and children, who may like to safely run off steam. There are is a large picnic table as as well as a BBQ for outdoor family meals. Garden reclining chairs and other garden paraphernalia are stored in the shed ready for guest use. A hedge screened part of the garden is ideal for sunbathing. There is ample car parking for three cars. Beach toys, surf boards, sun umbrellas and wind breaks are available in the shed to use on a replace if damaged basis.
Just a 45 minute walk downhill through fields and woods or a 10 minute drive leads you to Crackington Haven. It has a gem of a family beach with majestic cliffs, warm rock pools, pebbles and sand. There are two friendly cafés and a pub for refreshments. During the summer season there is an RNLI life guard service. There are two car parks and free toilets.
Within a short drive from Treglindon, the well-known and picturesque villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac can be found as well as the Victorian seaside town of Bude which boasts three beaches, a canal and a variety of small shops and supermarkets.
Part of the fun of a holiday in North Cornwall are the many places to explore within easy reach of our attractive and comfortable cottage. Popular places guests have enjoyed include Bodmin Moor, Rock, Polzeath, Padstow, Clovelly and various National Trust properties.

Outstanding Cornwall Accomidation
Everyone in our group (kids ages 10,11, my husband, and Grandad) all gave this place 10 out of 10. It's beautifully presented and maintained, and has everything (and I mean everything - a cupboard full supplies for packing picnics, a cooler, a shed stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, and lawn games, lots of books and games for rainy days and more). You can walk to the pub, walk to Crackington Haven (it took me about an hour) and has beautiful views. We will most certainly be booking again.

Enjoyed our stay very much
We felt very much at home in this beautifully furnished house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The fireplace was our favorite place to hang out, chill, chat, read and to have a cup of tea. The house is a perfect base for trips to Crackington Haven by the sea, Exmoor National Park or the south of Cornwall. Be sure to visit the farm shop (incl. the café/restaurant) in Boscastle!

As children we both holidayed with our respective parents in various parts of North Cornwall and wanted to share with our own children our love for Cornish beach holidays. We soon introduced this area to our toddlers staying first at Trevigue Farm and then at numerous other locations. This part of North Cornwall has certainly become a family favourite and we were delighted when we bought Treglindon in summer 2014 as our own family retreat. We have already had many enjoyable times with our family and friends. We are delighted to share the cottage with other families to create some happy and memorable moments for them too.

Why they chose this property

As soon as we saw the ever changing views from the kitchen and garden we fell in love with Treglindon. Since then we have enjoyed lovingly decorating and furnishing the cottage, making choices to reflect the nearby sea and surroundings. Living in Bath, we get down to Treglindon within 3 hours. Our first stop is often the pub at Crackington Haven where, if we are lucky, we will watch a most glorious sunset. Very quickly we unwind and become truly relaxed. The panoramic views from the cottage continually entertain us as does the varying wildlife. On sunny lazy days or afternoons when we have had enough beach, we come back and enjoy the many seating locations around the garden. A light lunch or BBQ supper is easy to prepare and serve at the picnic table. At the end of the day we all sleep soundly enjoying comfortable beds.

What makes this property unique

Only half a mile from the A39 Atlantic Highway giving easy access to North Cornwall beaches and attractions yet located in a quiet and beautiful countryside setting.
