Highly recommended
I would recommend this cottage to anyone. Our stay from start to finish was amazing . We arrived late at night (1am) after attending another wedding 3 hours away. We were still greeted by Paula who showed us in and checked we were ok. She even signed my teenage son into WiFi! The cottage it’s self is beautiful and immaculate. Everything you need inside set within a stunning location. Anyone thinking of staying here really should! The village is lovely and not too far from local shops and pubs . The cottage is amazing and so are Paula and her husband. We couldn’t have asked for more accomodating and welcome hosts. 5 star from us !

One dowmside is you need to get in a car to go anywhere BUT you are well-located for lots of North Cornwall beaches and towns

Relaxing Cornish break
The cottage is easy to find with parking space. We visited north Cornwall during our stay and didn’t have to use too many of those tiny Cornish roads thankfully. Paula was very friendly and helpful . The cottage is immaculate and spotlessly clean with everything you need for your break . Would highly recommend

About the host

Hi, Im Paula, along with my husband Dez we have owned Flittermouse Cottage since 2008. We have three children, well not really children any more, and have recently finished renovating Flittermouse. We live next to the cottage, having built our property we then decided to renovate the barn, which has been a labour of love, and have decided to share it with others for holiday use. We have lived in Cornwall for 15 years, coming from the Midlands to build other property before this one, as we always wanted to live in Cornwall and bring our children up here.

Why they chose this property

When we came to see the original barn, it was very overgrown, there were two barns here, and even though we had vines and trees growing through the roof, it felt 'right' when we went into the derelict buildings. And there is where it all began.

What makes this property unique

Flittermouse Cottage has always been a unique and interesting building from the moment we purchased it as a old run-down barn right up to this recent completion. It still holds it's original charm as a lot of the structure is made from the same materials as the original building. It's situated perfectly, hidden away in the cosy village of Helstone with great views of Delabole and the local countryside.
