PEACEFUL VIEWS
You won’t believe the peace and quiet you’ll enjoy in this location, a residential building in an authentic downtown neighborhood that’s both serene and in the heart of the action. Two verandas provide perfect views of Athens' most spectacular natural wonder. Mount Lykavittos, a limestone hill where wolves once roamed, looms majestically over the city. Contemplate its beauty while sipping your morning coffee or toast your once-in-a-lifetime holiday with a glass of wine at sunset.
FOR FIVE-STAR FAMILIES
At Greek Vacation Rentals, we furnish our properties to feel exactly like home because they are home (it's where we stay when we are in town). You’ll find contemporary decor and colorful art on the walls; clean tiled living spaces and couches to sink into with a good book.
You’ll also find everything you need to create memorable family meals (be sure to visit the two local farmers’ markets first) and to take care of the little things without disrupting your family time. That means all the kitchenware you need, coffee machine, dishwasher and full-sized washer and dryer – a rarity in Athens rentals.
We want you to feel at home, but we want you to feel spoiled too. High thread-count linens, fluffy robes, and organic Greek bath products add that indulgent vacation feel. Plus, we can provide expert concierge services if you need help to plan your days. Ask us how to arrange a private chef, wine-tasting, or a tour guide of the city!
2.5 BEDROOMS / 2 BATHROOMS
Families and groups of up to 8 people sleep like babies in our bedrooms. (We don't skimp when it comes to American-style comforts, like imported Sealy Posturepedic mattresses.)
Young kids love the king-sized sleeping alcove attached to one of the bedrooms, which gives little explorers their own space while staying close to mom and dad (who have a plush Queen bed to themselves). The second bedroom comes with a Double and two twins. All rooms are airy and modern, with bright pops of color.
Upstairs, a full bathroom tiled in neutral tones features an American-style bath and shower combo with glass doors. On the main floor, you’ll find a convenient second bathroom with walk-in shower.
ADVENTURE ON YOUR DOORSTEP
The best part of a staying at the Mount Lykavittos View Duplex Penthouse is the chance to live in one of Athens' most likable neighborhoods, so get ready to eat, drink, and live like a local!
You’ll find 4 local squares right outside the building, where locals and suburban Athenians choose to relax (be sure to join them for a coffee!), as well as parks and cafes dotted throughout the city. Plus, you’re within walking distance to the Acropolis and the city’s rich historic center. Explore world-renowned museums and soak up culture on every corner. With such a relaxing haven to call home during your stay, you’ll have plenty of energy for sightseeing.
Our Lykavittos View Duplex Penthouse is the perfect place for families with children or small groups to get away from it all – in the middle of it all - without spending a fortune.
Who would have thought when I boarded a plane for Greece more than 20 years ago, planning on backpacking through the mountains and then heading north through then Yugoslavia I'd end up making Greece my second home?
Adjacent to our Athens First Duplex penthouse and around the corner from our other 3 Acropolis View penthouses, the St George gave us our quietest home yet - and the chance to create a perfect pied-a-terre: comfy and not overwhelming in size for 1 or 2 guests, yet roomy & efficient enough to sleep up to 7 guests in real beds in the bedrooms.
At once elegant & convenient, with striking views, great private outdoor space, the best stocked vacation rental kitchens in the city of Athens, the perfect mix of location and comfort - all of our penthouses are situated in the perfect area for exploring the city's commercial center but living in the city's most desirable central residential neighborhood.
From the moment we made contact with Carole, everything was perfect: the communication, the apartment, the location, the recommendations for shopping and restaurants, her recommendation of Nick as a driver and guide. Carole truly understands hospitality, and what it means to be a traveller in a foreign country.
I highly recommend Athens, the neighbourhood and the apartment - we had the most incredible holiday filled with history, food, sunshine and relaxation. We couldn't possibly ask for more, except the privilege of returning one day.
This apartment can be called my new home at Athens. The owner Carole and Basil are very helpful and effective. The apartment is very comfy, cozy and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable. Upon our arrival, there is a surprise welcome basket waiting for me. Two ice cold water jar were filled and stored in the fridge. Nadea waited us at the door, showed us around the apartment and helped us to familiarize the neighbourhood. She gave us her cell phone number. Whenever we call her, she picks up her calls and answers any of our questions. I am highly recommend this apartment or any apartments Carole listed. She and her team are trustworthy and reliable. This apartment is ideal for a family of 4 to 6. The area is very quiet at night. We had a wonderful stay in there for 11 nights. We will be back for sure.
My wife and just returned from a wonderful 8 days in Athens with our two adult sons. Our accommodations at the Lykavittos Hill Duplex Penthouse were perfect: a great apartment that was clean, roomy, secure and attractive with a balcony, well-appointed kitchen and two baths. The apartment was also in a great neighborhood where the sites of Athens are accessible by foot (about a half-hour walk to Syntagma Square or Zeus's Temple/Hardrian's Arch), a cheap cab ride (5 euros) or public transit. The neighborhood where the apartment is also fantastic: filled with Athens locals, groceries, coffee stores, bakeries, banks and restaurants. Also, very few tourists. Although we speak no Greek, merchants were more than willing to help figure out what we wanted, and usually there was someone around that could interpret. Carole and her staff were great, making us feel at home and catering to our needs. We initially thought about attending a performance at the Epidavros Theatre, but figured we couldn’t manage to drive there and back by ourselves. Carole arranged for a wonderful day trip with a wonderful driver, Nicos, who took us on a 12 hour trip to Corinth, Mycenae, Napflio, and finally to the performance at Epidavros, getting back to Athens quickly. While we initially found this apartment on a third party site, we would recommend booking directly with Carole as she has her own web-based billing system both for apartment rental and booking tours.
Generous owners, many things available to travelers. Very nice welcome, welcome basket, information. Apartment that can accommodate several people, beautiful balconies, comfortable beds. Located in a quiet area about 20 minutes walk from the main activities. Secure. Very clean. Lift to access the apartment on the 5th floor. Wifi works well. Grocery and bakery nearby. Nadia who welcomed us was very nice. We would definitely recommend it. The owner always responded quickly to our emails. A very nice place to stay in Athens!
My family and I (8) total stayed in this apartment comfortably. The apartment is well furnished and well air conditioned, which is useful during those hot summer days. Carole was so helpful is coordinating pick-ups and drop offs with her team. They also coordinate a list of amazing activities so I would definitely take advantage of them. We did the foodie tour and it was such a great way to experience local food. I would definitely recommend staying here. The apartment is slightly outside the bustle of the city but such a quick cab ride away.
Very nice location. Short cab ride to all the attractions and a very thoughtful host (we had a baby with us and they had arranged a cot for her in one of the rooms). We were travelling in a large group and Carole was very helpful with the travel arrangements and answering questions. The welcome basket was a nice touch, especially for bunch of dog tired travelers at 10 pm.
We planned on a Greek vacation for our 4th European trip for our Family of Parents with Adult Children. We had 5 in our group this time and arranged the rental of Athens First. Carole was soooo helpful in answering questions and also providing so many options and materials for our Greek trip.
The apartment in the Pangrati area was perfect. There were lots of local restaurants to walk to for lunch and dinner. We went to the close by grocery for breakfast foods and some snacks for the apartment. It was 1 block from the main street and everything seemed very safe. We got 5 day passes for the Metro/bus/trolley use for only 9 euro each. It was about 10-15 min walk to the Metro and that fit our plan to use public transportation and travel like locals. Two stops to the Acropolis, 1 stop to Syntagma Square and other historic areas. We took it to the Pireus Harbor for our side trip to Hydra Island. We took trolley to Glyfada from Syntagma and saw the Sea Turtle Rescue center as well as a beach trip. The apartment had updated appliances. The beds were comfortable. The showers were hot. Sheets, towels and beach towels all provided. The air conditioning worked well . The modern plumbing in the building was appreciated. There was a great outdoor space on the balcony. We watched a couple of DVD movies provided in the apartment that were based in Greece during our "siesta" hours. We did the recommended "foodie tour" on our day of arrival and this oriented us to central Athens. Nadya did a great job. We also took Carole's suggestion and did the private Acropolis tour on Monday AM at 8 before the cruise ships and other big tours began and while it was still cool. Maria did a great job explaining the sites and museum to us. We also took Carole's suggestion for the trip to the temple of Poseidon at Sounion to see the sunset and a final seaside dinner the night before our departure. Carole made this vacation especially easy to plan! There is an elevator to the 5th floor apartment.
