Cabin stay
Stayed in home for a four day weekend just to get away. Like others have said there is no cell service at cabin with either Verizon or AT&T but you can turn WiFi calling on your phone and still make and receive phone calls and text messages. We loved having the creek right outside the door. My lab played in it every day. Overall cleanliness was good. Did have a couple of issues that addressed with the owner and she responded immediately. Couldn’t figure out the thermostat during stay so was a little warm in the cabin but just opened up some windows. If want to get away from everything this is the place to be to relax. The WiFi was very good. Was able to play gaming system. Would recommend a TV in the lower area somewhere. There is only one in the living room and in the bedroom on the main level. Would definitely stay again. It is 30 minutes from house to any stores in town, so would recommend considering when planning to cook to make sure you have everything.

Lodge stay
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the lodge the only thing that we would change is to have some dorm fridge in the woodshed and another refrigerator in the house other than that we had a great time

Absolutely Awesome!
We had ages range from 9 to 86 and everyone was very satisfied. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. The fishing was fantastic, if you’re looking for wild rainbow and brook trout. I managed to catch my best wild brookie. The constant sounds of the creek and birds was perfect. Even my tinnitus was drowned out. I look forward to our mountain trips every year to get truly “get away from it all”. This property did just that. The caretaker was so pleasant and accommodating. One warning, those trails are a workout! And I loved it!

Since 1986 our family has been escaping to the mountains of Robbinsville, North Carolina to reconnect with nature, explore, and of course create lifelong memories with our family. We have hiked every trail, taught our two boys to fish here, and shared endless gatherings with family and friends. Every season offers an exciting new set of adventures and scenery. The winter snow, spring wild flowers, summer trout, and fall leaves are just the beginning of what you can expect to find. We invite you to come create memories, share new adventures, and take in the sights and sounds of this nature escape.

Why they chose this property

After vacationing here as a child, we knew this was an experience we wanted to share with our children. Over the years, we searched for the perfect mountain home only to create our own private escape of several residences. Today we oversee nearly 1,000 acres and have built/rehabbed 7 unique, custom cabins in Robbinsville and look forward to sharing them with you, your family, and friends.

What makes this property unique

When you arrive at the Chestnut Lodge on Huffman Creek, it may take you a few minutes to unwind. Grab your favorite book, head to the porch, hammock, or stream, and prepare for a trip of pure relaxation. Our favorite thing to do is prepare a 'breakfast extravaganza' each morning for the few early risers in the bunch. Prepare a pile of pancakes for those morning lovers and let the rest stay snuggled in bed. Best of all, by the time those morning lovers wrap up, the rest of us are about ready for a day of hiking, exploring, and sometimes napping. It's just the right size home to offer a good combination of gathering spaces and privacy. We fell in love with this place as kids, then brought our kids to explore. Today, the next generation (our children) have begun to write their own chapter at Huffman which even included one of our sons getting married right on the lawn at the Chestnut. This place is full of memories for us and we hope it's the start of something equally magical for you.
