Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough great things about Dover Cottage. It looks "cute" in the pics, but it's 5x prettier in person. The pics honestly don't do it justice. It's like turning a page in a Hemingway novel. The cottage isn't just "looks" though. They've done a fantastic job appointing the home. The furniture is beautiful & comfortable. Every detail is on point, from super high-end soaps, to linens, to towels, everything is top shelf. They also have great bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, etc to use at the beach. And, there are a ton of books in the house on Naples, magazines about things to do, etc. They've essentially thought of everything. Legitimately, I can't think of a single thing that was disappointing or missing.

The house itself is very inviting & enjoyable to hang out in. Despite being in a cottage, the living room is HUGE! I bet it's every bit 25' x 15'. And, it's an open concept with the kitchen. The screened-in back porch is also a nice place to hang out, as is the backyard. The entire backyard is full of trees, so it's shaded from sun up to sun down. Location wise, you can't get any better. It's literally 1 block from 3rd Street, 3 blocks from the pier, and a short walk from the harbor & 5th Avenue.

Greg is also very responsive & seems like a genuinely good guy. We absolutely will be back. And next time, we'll probably rent the 1-bedroom back cottage as well (which is also adorable).

On a side note, as a repeat Naples visitor, I highly recommend Campiello for lunch & dinner, and Jane's Cafe for breakfast & lunch.

‘Anniversary’ Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Dover Cottage to celebrate the anniversary of when we first met 30 years ago, and had a wonderful stay. This year we returned to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. We kicked off our shoes and it was liked we had returned Home. In the 18 months since our first visit, the property has been well maintained and it has had quite a few updates making our stay this time even more pleasurable.

We had already had 4 exciting days in New York so we wanted to chill at the Cottage and the beach this time, however we did manage to attend a matinee performance of Leading Ladies at The Gulfshore Playhouse and take a wonderful sunset cruise organised by Sweet Liberty Catamaran Sailing both were very enjoyable.(We pre booked both online months earlier)

After our last evening meal we were walking back to the Cottage and as we reached Broad Ave The Naples Christmas Parade had just began, it was excellent there were 5 marching bands, many floats and ended with a wave from Santa Claus, we couldn’t have planned a better end to our visit.

Dover Cottage is a charming stylish property which feels more like a cherished and much loved home, rather than a holiday rental.....we love it.

Thank you to Greg the owner who handled everything in a professional and helpful manner.
