About this property

The “trullo” – the traditional house of Apulia

“Trulli” (the plural of “trullo”) are dry stone, conical rooved huts which are typical of and specific to the Italian region of Apulia. This “trullo” was built in 1850 and has been newly renovated in order to maintain its original identity. It is located in the centre of an extremely large (approximately a hectare) and secluded area, and surrounded by nature of spectacular beauty and centuries old olive trees. It is the ideal place for holidays with friends and family in search of contact with the environment of the Mediterranean. The location provides for comfortable evenings and nights, even in the hottest months. Internally, the “trullo” is always fresh, even during the hottest hours of the day. The property is composed of two completely independent bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower (50 m2). There is even a barbeque in the patio. Furthermore, the “trullo” is protected by a monitored alarm system.
The beautiful sandy beaches of the Nature Reserve of Torre Guaceto are just 15 km away, and can be reached comfortably by car. Here, you can find free beaches, or you can rent an umbrella and deck chair, and leave your vehicle at a monitored car park. Meanwhile, the magnificent beaches of the Ionic Coast are only 40 km away: among the places most famous for their beauty are Porto Cesareo, the Nature Reserve of Porto Selvaggio and Gallipoli.

A unique place to stay
We loved the rustic nature of the house in its own grounds and spent time sitting out on the terrace. We adapted quickly to the ways of the house, which had everything we needed. Luigi who looked after us could not have done more. The weather was very windy and we had a big thunderstorm, that's the only thing that was a downside.
