Absolutely fabulous stay. Got to meet property owner (Michael) which was fabulous putting a face to the name. It was quiet and and everything I needed. I would absolutely stay again.

Country Haven
We spent 5 days exploring the county of my grandfather's birth. The cottage is in a rural setting but within 20/30 mins of several larger towns with all necessary services. The cottage is updated and very comfortable.

About the host

I am a farmer. This cottage belonged to my mother's family and I bought it in 1993. In 2006, I renovated it completely and it has been a holiday letting since then. I enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world.

Why they chose this property

This cottage belonged to my family for at least 100 years. Three generations of my family have owned this cottage and the farm. My grandfather bought this cottage in the early 1900's and 3 generations of my family have farmed on the land here. I then acquired the farm and renovated the cottage in 2006. It previously had a thatched cottage. It is typical of many of the local cottages that were built in this area at this time.

What makes this property unique

Location is the best feature. It is ideal for a quite retreat or for touring the South West of Ireland. Set just 1km off the N72 and about half-way between Mallow and Killarney.
It is set in a country location, in a farming community with views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. ( Clara mountains)
