Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are both beautiful vacation destinations, each having its own uniqueness, one of the major differences between the two cities is the feel. Gatlinburg is nestled right in the middle of the mountains and has a kind of small town feel. You can walk the downtown area. Pigeon Forge has views of the Smokies, but it isn’t right at the base of mountains. The downtown area is more spread out and the city can’t really be walked through in a day.
Both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have lots of great shows and attractions that line the cities’ downtown areas. Each city has great food, breathtaking mountain views, horseback riding, adventure off-roading, put putt golf, and zip-lining.
The shopping in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is slightly different. You can buy almost anything in both cities. However, the more mainstream shopping stores and outlet malls are located in Pigeon Forge. Shopping in Gatlinburg gives visitors more of a taste of the local community and artists. The arts and crafts community in Gatlinburg can be seen almost anywhere you go through the unique items you can buy throughout the downtown strip.
There are many more differences and unique attractions for each city but here’s a list of just some of the things you might enjoy in one city that the other city doesn’t have.
Pigeon Forge has:
Dollywood (Splash Country) & other Attractions
Ober Ski & Amusement Park
Legal Moonshine Distillery
