About Coral Beach

Coral beach Hotel & Condominiums is located directly on Coral Beach, one of the widest white sand beaches in the Bahamas. You have direct access to the beach and pool via a garden pathway from our unit.

Our beach is ultra-wide and naturally formed from soft, white coral sand which feels cool on your feet even under the hot Caribbean sun.

The pool area includes a massive pool with waterfall feature, and lots of tables and seating areas.

There is also an incredible, award-winning pool bar and restaurant open for lunch and dinner with an extensive meal and drink menu.

The complex is a quick 15 minute drive or cab ride from Freeport International Airport.

About The Area & Attractions

Coral Beach is located on the southern shore of Grand Bahama Island, near the city of Freeport. We are about a 15 minute walk down the beach from popular Port Lucaya, a maze of shops and restaurants. It’s easy to find your favorite restaurant or try a new one each night.

Port Lucaya is where you also find attractions such as the casino, and Unexso (The Underwater Explorer’s Society), for the Dolphin Encounter and scuba diving excursions.

Grand Bahama is also a great destination for nature & eco-tours, golf, and some of the best salt-water fishing in the world.

Coral Beach is also located a very short drive away from modern grocery stores for meals prepared in our excellent kitchen.

About Michael Martinello

Hi, we are Michael and Janis Martinello. We live just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We have three boys (one, three and five years old!). I (Michael) started travelling to Coral Beach over 20 years ago when it was owned by my parents. This place and the island have a special place in my heart, and we are looking forward to building lots more memories here with our boys.

We take pride in providing top quality accommodations for our guests. If you have to opportunity to be our guest, I hope and know that you will enjoy it!

We completed a full renovation of this property in early 2015. It contains all new finishes, floor to ceiling, throughout all spaces, including a great kitchen and bathroom. We brought in all new high quality furniture and appliances.

We feel that you should not have to compromise in staying with an owner-operated property. We provide the quality of a high end hotel with all the comforts of home.

What makes this condo unique

Our property is located on the ground floor, for easy access to the pool and beach area with no elevators. This also means you have access to our large outdoor patio space, perfect for lazy mornings.

We also aim to provide a full set of amenities so that you are not lacking for anything. A few of our uncommon amenities include a washer, dryer and dishwasher, so that you don't have to pack heavy or worry about chores on your vacation. We provide a locking safe for your personal belongings.

Our property is well equipped for families, including play yard and high chair.

Finally, our bathroom is spectacular! You may not want to leave the shower!

Awesome Condo and the Best Beach!

This condo is exactly as stated, and the updated kitchen is fantastic! We cooked a lot of meals in the condo due to food allergies, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and new. The locals are so nice and friendly. The beach is one of the Best! This beach does not have all the vendors trying to sell you something constantly as down by Port Lucaya. Taking the bus was a great experience and only a short walk from the condo. The buses ask you where you want to go and take you there just like a taxi. It was a great way to get around. We walked to Port Lucaya every day as the beaches are so beautiful. This condo is great and you won't be disappointed.

Great, ground-floor condo. Nice upgrades.

The condo itself was very nice. Well equipped with appliances, including a Keurig, large flat-screen TV, and good Wi-Fi. Air cooled the place quickly. There were plenty of bath towels, beach towels, and sheets (my son slept on the futon couch).

I appreciated the ground-floor location, mostly because the elevator wasn't working in that building. The view to the courtyard was pleasant, as well.

On the downside, the property is in need of some recovery work. Granted, it has only been 9 months since Hurricane Matthew, but the building and common areas looked pretty beaten down. Also, the plus side of having a restaurant on-site wasn't helpful since the restaurant has been closed for the entire summer. A car is a big plus if staying at Coral Beach.

Fantastic stay in a very nice condo

Light, clean and nice modern apartement centrally located just 10 minutes away from Port Lucaya and also directly at the beach at Coral Beach. Nice place to stay both for couples or for families. Pool area, bar, Beach all within 20 metres. You have all you need for a great holiday right here. We will be back.

The property had all facilities needed but was very dark with a dismal outlook and cracked paved yard. It was clean and kept tidy.

There was no reception staff on arrival and finding the Condo was frustrating. Pool bar staff were unhelpful and telephones on site did not work so we were unable to get assistance. A resident was the one to help us.

During the stay all questions asked of any staff met with '' call the owner''! Facilities closed early as there were fewer guests and we were told by staff that management wanted to save money. So it was bad luck for those that were there.

There was no safety deposit box in the accommodation and the patio doors could not be locked - hence security issues.

The pool area was like a ''private club'' with chairs bagged, three umbrellas at tables, no seating on beach (again - the owner should provide them) and a general air of ''couldn't care less''.

It was necessary to hire a car or use a taxi as most restaurants or shopping areas were a long way from the Condo. This was not what we had been led to believe in the write up of the amenities and site of the Condo. Whilst the sand, sea and sunshine were wonderful in Grand Bahama it is a flat and featureless country with only a few places to visit. We visited them all and found them an interesting day out but there is little other than sports connected with the water for visitors. If you want to combine this with an overview of the country and its inhabitants and culture then you will be sadly disappointed.

I would not recommend this property or indeed Grand Bahama to any of my friends.

Owner's Response: We take a great deal of pride in the care we have invested into our Bahamas home and love to share it with people, so we were definitely concerned that one of our guests did not enjoy their time! Having hosted over 100 guests, this is the first time we have received a review of this nature and we found it to be very out-of-character compared to what our other guests have told us, so we would like to address some of the points for future guests: -Our condo is recently renovated and well lit. One side of the condo is glass facing the patio and grounds outside and each room has both lamps and overhead lighting -We provide detailed instructions for accessing our property and a property manager who is on call should you require any assistance -We sent out our on-call repairman to investigate the patio door during the visit and found the lock to be in working order -We provide beach chairs and instructions for accessing them prior to your arrival -The walking distances to restaurants and shopping in our property description are accurate, and we always discuss with our guests in advance what they plan to do and how to best go about it. As you can see from our other reviews, many of our guests take the walk to Port Lucaya on a regular basis, and find any other recommendations they’ve asked for to be accurate. If you have any questions about the area, we are happy to discuss them in advance. We strive to provide a hotel-quality accommodation, but since this a private home in a condo building, like other VRBO/HA properties, it is not staffed like a hotel. The building staff truly are great people who are there to provide security, keep the grounds pristine and staff the front desk. They will generally not be able to answer questions about our condo specifically or help you with questions specific to our unit. That’s why we provide an on-call property manager during your stay to assist with any of your needs, and we encourage guests to contact us or our property manager for anything, including any specific requests for items that a guest might need. You can even contact us directly using the direct line in our condo. We’ve had many special requests from guests that we are only happy to fulfill. In terms of the people and culture of the island, we have always loved them and our guests find it to be a charming place. Many have returned and love the culture of the island, and we have experienced nothing but warmth and kindness from the people of Grand Bahama.

Everything was just as it was described. The beach was pristine and the water was perfect for swimming. Anything you would want to do was

available, even bridge tournaments. We were able to walk to most places and the bus service was good. Also Queenie was always available

when we needed her. Michael was very helpful if we needed something. The sights that were offered were excellent and we took advantage of

most of them. The location of the condo was very accommodating and very safe. We made some good friends there and would definitely

go back.

Terrific! Micheal was great. We had a issue with some remodeling being done on our original VRBO rental.We were already in the Bahamas with only 3 days left on our first week before we were to move to VRBO rental. Micheal got us in to his in 1 day. Really brought our stress level down. Loved the large ground floor patio. Very easy access to pool and beach. Both of which were great. We had a very nice time.
