Charming Boutique Cabin in Private Setting

Bedrooms 2
Space 102 m²
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 5 nights

About the property

Charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin in pristine setting! 5 minutes to Gondola

The Powder Pad is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin nestled against the wetlands of the Goose Pasture Tarn, 3 miles south of Breckenridge. This one of a kind cabin is extremely secluded and backs to hundreds of acres of wetlands and national forest. What makes this cabin so special is the ponds and streams right out of the back door. You will experience the benefits of being in an extremely private setting - yet still being in such close proximity to Breckenridge.

In addition to the 2 bedrooms, the cabin has a loft with a Queen size murphy bed. The cabin sleeps up to 6 people - via 3 Queen size beds.

After a fun day of skiing, the hot tub will be just the ticket to warm you up. You will find this to be an ultra private hot tub experience in the most serene and private setting underneath the stars.

The Powder Pad's kitchen is stocked with all of the amenenties you may need: crockpot, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, etc.

The living room features a flatscreen Samsung smart TV and a wood burning stove. We stock the cabin with firewood for our guests. There is nothing better than curling up in front of the fire after a day of mountain fun.

There is so much to do in all of the seasons:

In the winter months, in addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can cross country ski or snow shoe right out the back door. There are many hiking trails near the Powder Pad.

In the summer months, you and your guests will enjoy 3 decks off of the cabin that add to the living space. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the upper back deck, listening to Spruce Creek that runs right through the back yard. The beautiful ponds off of the back of the cabin boast beavers and fish. Grab a fishing pole and take a walk through 'Moose on the Loose' trail right out of the back of the cabin. Convening around the fire pit in the evening with s'mores is the perfect way to end a summer mountain day.

In the Fall, the whole scene around the cabin explodes with shades of gold. The intimate view of the famous Boreas Pass is yours to take in from either of the back decks.

There has been many wildlife spotted from the Powder Pad including our local Moose, Beaver, Deer, Great Blue Heron, Hummingbirds, Osprey, and Geese. All observed from the back deck of the Powder Pad. What will you see when you stay???

If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please let us know.

We spent the Christmas holiday there and loved the privacy and charm of the cabin. A great deal of thought was put in to the property (ie Hot Tub with warming walkway on back deck!). On Christmas morning in the continuous snow we were greeted by a giant moose just off the back deck. Magical!

Perfect Honeymoon Stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the Powder Pad! We came to get married at Sapphire Point in Lake Dillon which is just a 20 minute drive. We were close to everything in Breckenridge yet still comfortably secluded. The cabin had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend staying and would love to return one day

Weather was awesome and so was property. Far enough outside of town to enjoy the mountains and no close neighbors but short drive into town for all we needed. Beautiful backyard and view.

Lovely mountain cabin

  • 5 of 5

What a great cabin! The location was very quiet with a sweet little stream and pond behind the cabin. You felt as though you were "out there", yet you were convenient to Breck. The inside of the cabin was very nicely decorated and up-to-date. We spotted hummingbirds right outside the kitchen window every morning, spotted deer every other day and enjoyed the view from the hot tub in the evenings. We've rented many homes/cabins/condos over the years and sometimes you feel as though the owners don't care about making their place feel as comfortable as a home but that is definitely not the case here. We even spent a day at the cabin just relaxing because it was very conducive to doing just that. I hope we get the opportunity to stay here again!

Post Wedding Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My husband, adult daughter and son, and I stayed July 24-28, 2017 at Powder Pad after marrying off our other daughter in Vail the weekend prior. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after the joyous hustle-bustle of the wedding with extended family and friends.

We took advantage of the grandeur of our surroundings and hiked to Crystal Lake one day, and the Upper Mohawk Lake on another day. The views were worth the arduos assent! We also highly enjoyed two AVA excursions: a half-day white water raft adventure out of Buena Vista and an off-road, RZR tour from Kremmling. Both guides were extremely friendly and informative of the geography, history and culture of the Arkansas River and public lands within the Wolford Mountain area. My husband and son also pushed through a challenging mountain bike trail out of Breckenridge one morning. All this physical exertion left us feeling exhilarated and entitled to dinners out in Breck (Briar Rose Chophouse, Blue River Bistro and The Canteen Taphouse and Tavern), followed by a glass of wine and well-deserved soak in the hot tub on the back deck overlooking the babbling creek, pond and mountains beyond. I only wish we could have stayed one more day to just hang out and relax on the back deck and enjoy the quiet and solitude more fully. We will just have to come back! Thanks Kate and Shawn for the welcoming hospitality basket and other stocked provisions in your beautiful cabin. It was all we wished and hoped for!

Why Shawn and Kate chose Blue River

We were looking for a property that was close to Breckenridge, yet private and serene. We have found this getaway as a huge blessing when we need a breather from the daily grind. Shawn's favorite season is Winter time and Kate's is the Summer. The Powder Pad is so enjoyable in any season.

What makes this cabin unique

We love the summer time at the Powder Pad because of it's private setting and water features. There is nothing better than falling asleep in the mountains with the sound of a stream to lower your stress level.

We are sure you will fall in love with our charming cabin, just as much as we have.
