Wonderful Family Stay
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. We had everything we needed and more: comfortable, clean accommodations, a well appointed kitchen, and a large yard that our kids and dog loved! Perfect location to explore Joshua Tree and the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

spring break in Yucca Valley during CoVid-19
The property was exactly as advertised, even more subtly calming. The backyard was especially attractive with the sculpting inviting a walk to the very back. The beds were quite comfortable and the linens nice to the touch. The neighborhood was quiet and made for great dog walks. We saw quail, fox, rabbits and deer tracks.

Nice location in Yucca Valley
The house was nice, cozy and interesting with the unique original artwork. My only suggestion is to add pillowtops to the twin beds and queen mattresses or get new ones and to invest in a non-stick 10” or 12” frying pan to make clean-up easier.

Close to Joshua Tree and convenient to restaurants. HUGE backyard if you bring pets!
we spent most of our day hiking and exploring, but the house was perfect for our needs with 3 teenagers and two large dogs, we enjoyed the house. The backyard is HUGE and fenced in so our dogs loved running around and playing. Plenty of room for the five of us to watch movies, Netflix available as well as Blu-ray player, eat dinner at the table, and play games. Would highly recommend and will contact them for our next trip to JTNP.

Peaceful house with everything we needed for an extended stay.
Convenient location to grocery, pharmacy, and beautiful walks. Patio outside with fire pit and fairy lights was lovely. Stephen was always available at a moment's notice. We had a bit of an emergency situation and needed the place for a month. Stephen and the owners were gracious and empathetic. It was accessible for my mom, who was using a walker. Kitchen was great to cook in. Excellent DVD selection. Plenty of space but still cozy. Would recommend!

About the host

Hosted by Licia Perea

Host profile image
Owners Licia and Jose are both performing and visual artists who grew up in New Mexico and moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue their careers in dance, theater, film and TV. They are also wine makers and enjoy traveling.

Why they chose this property

Licia and Jose find Joshua Tree to be a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Some of their friends had moved to Joshua Tree and so they started looking for a 2nd home to spend much more time in this special place of the world. This charming home had been lovingly remodeled by a contractor for his son, but the young man decided to seek his fortune in the big city, so the father decided to sell the house. When Licia and Jose saw the house they knew they had found a gem and so they jumped at the chance to purchase the home.

What makes this property unique

The property features a stone facade, set off by large stones in the front yard and even a stone mailbox. José has recently installed beautiful custom made gates and fences which he designed and built. A 40' pine tree shades the driveway and a mature olive tree in the back yard produces gorgeous olives that Licia and Jose enjoy curing. There are paloverde trees, a 20' juniper, a 30' cypress, Joshua Trees, cacti, yucca and many other plants. The fenced back yard is great for dogs, and the back patio is a pleasant place to hang out in the shade. This well insulated house with central AC and heating is comfortable all year round.
