Excellent condo in the best location

My husband, myself and our two grown up daughters stayed in this condo for 9 nights just before Easter. Jim has been great to deal with and responded immediately to any queries. The condo is spacious, very well equipped with good quality appliances and the beds were comfortable, especially the new mattress in main bedroom. So useful to have the washer dryer too. The cool boxes were really useful for days out and there were snorkelling sets and beach umbrellas/toys. The condo is well placed in the building. Very quiet and high enough on the 3rd floor to give fantastic views over the ocean to Molokai island and the beautifully maintained gardens. We saw whales almost every day! Proximity to the Whaler Village is unbeatable for restaurants, cafes and shopping (and free ukelele lessons!) We would highly recommend Jim’s condo and hope to return some day! Mahalo Jim!

Maui Getaway

Just returned from a girls getaway in Maui, staying at The Whaler, room 374. Upon arrival, we found the condo to be exactly as described online. The condo was very clean, very quiet, access to beach chairs and gear, and our own washer/dryer. Our favorite thing was sitting on the spacious Lanai with the beautiful view of the ocean. The location is great as well. A short walk to The Whaler Village for shopping, restaurants, or whatever else you might need. Working with James was a plus. I contacted him prior to the trip and was pleased that he was very responsive, contacting me quickly and answering all my questions. He did everything to ensure we had a wonderful time. Would definitely stay in this condo again.

Great Location, Not so comfortable room...

We've stayed at the Whaler for years. We booked this unit on fairly short notice.

This room is tight for 4 people, unless you have small children. We had to rent a roll-away bed for my daughter. Cooking in this room is almost impossible. The stove top is so small that you can really only use one pan at a time. Also, there is no counter space next to the stove for preparing what you're going to cook. Although we bought groceries, we ended up cooking for just one breakfast, then eating out the rest of the time because it took so long with one pan and we didn't want to spend our time in the unit. The dishwasher was difficult to use as the top & bottom are really two different dishwashers. Ultimately we contacted the owner & he was very responsive & helpful. The main bedroom is ok, however the King Bed is extremely hard. I joked with my wife that maybe we were sleeping on a box spring. I didn't get a complete nights sleep the whole time I was there, my wife seemed to sleep ok though. Also, the master bathroom shower is very small. The main living area is very comfortable. I wish I could give a more positive review of this unit, but compared to other Whaler rooms I've stayed in, this one just wasn't what I expected.

Owner's Response: I am sorry your experience was not what you expected. As far as the counter space for cooking in the unit, all one-bedroom two-bath units in the Whaler have basically a similar kitchen configuration as the stove and sinks have to be located in accordance with the building stacks. I apologize about the dishwasher the appliances are brand new and moving forward we will post instructions on how to use the new drawer-style dishwasher. As far as the master bathroom shower goes that is standard due to the size of bath rubs that the Whaler allows. I apologize about the mattress, if you had called me I would have sent a new one down immediately and I'll be ordering a new one today. I apologize with the reference to the room when you left, that was another unit and a gross mistake. You left the unit just fine.

Great Vacation Accommodation! A perfect getaway!

I stayed at this Whaler rental condo in February 2018 with my family. It is in a great location right in the middle of Kaanapali. Close to restaurants and shopping as well as snorkelling at Blackrock. There was enough room for four adults when using the Murphy bed which was very comfortable.

The room was clean and really well equipped. Check in is through the Whaler Hotel which should make the renter very comfortable renting this unit. No worry if anything goes wrong. The owner is very quick to respond if you have any questions.

A really great place to stay that I would highly recommend. Thanks so much.

A wonderful first class condo with a local owner.

Everything is first class. The property to very well maintained on one of the best beaches in Maui. Location is excellent for all activities and ten minutes from Lahaina. Don't forget to stop in at Mick Fleetwood's for happy hour. Best happy hour on the island. I will be back.

Wonderful comfortable stay

Loved everything about the condo. Comfortable with lots of amenities. The whaler never disappoints. The only negative was it was noisy being right by the lobby and the driveway which was only a problem when the sliders were open. Beautiful condo with everything you could possibly need and Jim made sure we didn't lack for anything. We loved our stay and appreciated Jim's concern for our comfort.
