Big Mountain is a short 31 mile drive on all paved roads. With an average snowfall of 300 inches, vertical drop of 2350 ft, and 3 high-speed quads, this great American ski town makes for an amazing Montana destination.
• Cross Country
Often its great Cross Country right from the property and just a few miles from the Ranch is the Round Meadows X-C Ski trails which included 12 miles of easy to advance moderate Nordic ski terrain. There are 7 trail loops within the Round Meadow trail system. The trail head has ample parking for 20 vehicles, a restroom and informational sign. Grooming of the trails is done on a weekly basis or after large storms. On the trails within Round Meadows, friendly dogs are allowed to be off leash and under voice control of their owners. The trail is used in the winter by cross-country skiing and snowshoers and serves hikers, bikers and horse riders in the summer months.
• Glacier/Waterton Nation Park
Glacier National Park is also in the area and easily accessible during the summer time. Considered as the “Crown of the Continent Ecosystem,” with hundreds of species of animals and from glacier fields to prairie and tundra, Glacier National Park is the center of one of the largest and most intact ecosystems in North America. With over 130 turquoise alpine lakes, mountain goats, moose, grizzly bears, and glacier cut mountains that are sure to leave you speechless.
