Why Christine Donaldson chose Upper Village

We love Whistler. It starts with the mountains, best skiing in North America. Great terrain and the amenities are unbeatable. But Whistler has become so much more. There is actually more to do in the summers. We walk to Chateau Whistler Golf Course, the lake, walking trails, mountain biking, hiking, sightseeing, rafting every outdoor activity anyone can want, right outside the door.

The Village with its boutiques, bars and restaurants Olympic Plaza, outdoor concerts and festivals. Whistler has become a true Year Round Resort.

What makes this condo unique

We fell in love with the condo the moment we walked in the door. It is completely renovated and has quality finishes, but what really did it was the view. The condo is on the top floor and has great unobstructed vies of the mountains. We also like the layout. We have two boys and having the loft is great. It allows the boys to hang out and watch tv or play video games upstairs and the adults can be down stairs.

Relaxing and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time during our stay. The property was easy to get to and Christine was prompt with any information we needed. The pool and hot tub were a nice feature with having three kids! Also having two TVs helped with down time. We would definitely stay again and recommend this property to others!

Modern cozy condo close to the lifts and upper village

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of 5 adults which was perfect for the size of this unit. I agree it looks larger in the photos than it actually is, but it's comfortable. It was well decorated and furnished, and had a great view and location (although only kind of ski-out from a walking path across the street, but definitely not ski-in). The wifi worked well, the fireplace was warm, and Christine was very responsive with a few issues we had right away (not enough towels, burnt out lightbulbs). Although I would consider this a good rental, we did not give this 5 stars as there were some things that needed attention: profuse leaking of the shower in the master bathroom, hot water ran out after 1 or 2 people showering (especially late afternoon), lamp bases were damaged and could not stand straight up without propping, knives were all dull (we bought a couple at the store in the village and left them for future renters). Some suggestions would be to add a small table on the balcony, some blankets/throws, a larger cutting board, ice cube trays, a kettle, a blender, salt/pepper/oil, and toilet plungers in both bathrooms. Other VRBO or airBnB rentals provide a book explaining the complex and locations of amenities with rules and check out instructions. It would have been helpful as we needed to ask the desk downstairs how to find the laundry room and hot tub. We did appreciate some extras such as board games, waffle maker and rice cookers (there are 2!). All in all, we'd stay again as Christine seemed very responsive and hopefully will improve the rental even more with time!

Price and quality

  • 5 of 5

this place was just right. for the price it is very close to the mountain. like others say here it might not be Ski in and Out but man if its not its the next best thing. its just a small walk to a path. we had 5 adults stay for a week and we had plenty of room. the loft was very nice with the second living room. if you are staying in the loft bed be sure your in shape that ladder is no joke after a few beers. Christina messaged me a few times during the trip just to check in but I'm easy going and had no issues. over all i would for sure stay here again. its the balance of price and quality

Cosy apartment a few minutes stroll from Blackcomb base

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely little apartment in a great location. On the map it seems to be a fair way away from the village, but in reality it's just 3 minutes walk to Blackcomb base and a similar time on the free shuttle bus (stops right outside) to the main village. Generally you can ski back to within a 2 minute walk, but on our last day, snowing heavily, my son did manage to board right to the front door!

The two bedrooms are spacious and have comfy beds. The loft area has a comfy sofa bed and a bed above accessed via a ladder. The kids loved this, although they did moan a once or twice about noise / light from downstairs when they tried to sleep earlier than the adults as this area is completely open to below.

The apartment is well equipped. Lots of cooking pans etc. which we persuaded the kids to use to cook us breakfast one morning :-)

Christine answered messages quickly. A small issue with the cable TV was rectified very quickly.

Overall, great experience. Would certainly consider staying again.

Great unit, lovely views.

  • 4 of 5

Comfy unit in large complex. Owner quick to respond to any queries.Living room smaller than pics indicate. Loft area very hot to sleep in and difficult to get in and out of. No individual laundry facilities- you can access the buildings pay laundry room though.

Unit was clean. It is not truly ski in but in close proximity to a walking path which you can sometimes ski out on depending on foot traffic.

Overall good value, lovely views from balcony and comfortable. Would stay again.
