This sweet 1935 built one story farmhouse has all its original charm plus! Hardwood floors, big rooms, excellent natural light, an excellent working kitchen; all on the edge of a major wooded enclave. Our neighborhood has had the good fortune of retaining several large tracts of big, hardwood forest. Chances are very good you will see deer, hawks and other wildlife all while being within a 5 minute bike ride to the main campus of Wake Forest University and an 8 minute car ride to Winston Salem's very vibrant downtown. There are many locally owned ethnic restaurants close by: Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian, as well as more classic American style cuisine (Village Tavern and the River Birch are two of our favorites). FYI - We have an eclectic design style and have created an art display in the hallway with older, rustic farm tools. Please see photo.

Susan MacIntosh purchased this house in 2014
It's just right. Easy to find, easy to get to everything and very comfortable.
The cottage was perfect for us. A great place to bring your dog and close enough to town to enjoy all of our wedding events in Winston Salem. We really enjoyed the yard and the screened porch was perfect on a rainy afternoon. We did see a deer on the front lawn in the early morning moonlight!
This small farm house was great for our stay. Conveniently located near the college but also to the area (near relatives we were visiting). It does have only one bath which might be a problem for some but plenty of sleeping space. Very clean and quiet.
This is a quaint little older home that was exceptionally clean and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The house is across the street from a small wooded area and we saw several deer in the morning and evening while sitting on the screened in porch. The home is a mix of old decor and modern updates. We had to be off and on the campus of Wake Forest several times a day which was the purpose of our visit. It is less than a five minute drive from campus which fit our needs perfectly. If visiting the University I would stay here again. The owners were quick and responsive to our needs.
House was cozy & clean. Great little area all around.
What a delight to stay in such a cozy, charming house. The interior was full of surprises that really please the artistic eye. My daughters and I created a memorable time cooking on an antique Hotpoint Stove. Thank you for making your house such a unique pleasure.
The home was clean and functional and worked well for our weekend visit to see our son at Wake. The home is "no frills" so if you are looking for a higher end home you should probably stay somewhere else.
Located in a rural setting very close to everything. We love the neighborhood because even most locals don't know its right here under their noses!
