Awesome host and awesome rental!
I cannot say enough good things about the host Toby or the rental. Toby was fantastic. He was very accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. He was very nice and welcoming. As far as the rental, as advertised. Great location in a very nice neighborhood. This location was walkable to beautiful hiking trails, Pearl Street was a block or two away, and an easy walk to Folsom Field if you're going to a game. Overall, fantastic trip. 5 star plus. I highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting Boulder.

Perfect location. Amazing host.
We enjoyed everything about our stay at this comfortable and cozy home. Toby goes above and beyond - from fresh flowers everywhere, to a big bowl of fresh fruit, We appreciated the snacks provided, plus the wine and sparkling water in the fridge. The kitchen was well stocked for the meals we chose to make there. The back porch was a favorite morning spot to enjoy our coffee. Overall, Toby's home was clean, well stocked and communication was top notch. This is a perfect Boulder location and we look forward to visiting again.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm a Boulder native. My father was a CU professor of romance languages, and I grew up with my 4 sisters on Mapleton Hill. I'm a musician and teacher, and you may hear the sounds of my Steinway grand piano next door. I cherish quiet and peacefulness above all, and spend most of my time watering the morning glories, cooking healthy food and playing with the little ruler of the roost, Jambo. (He's my very playful Chihuahua.) My passions are working for the environment, classical music, flowers, books and meditation. I have a large and joyous extended family living in the area, so you may see some very beautiful children coming in and out of my door. I have a great love for Boulder as well as my little piece of heaven that I've created here the past 25 years. I look forward making it available for discriminating guests.

Why they chose this property

My parents helped my younger sister and I buy this property back in the day. I immediatly fell in love with the enormous 100 year old silver maple in the back yard, the charm of the brick structure, and the quiet neighborhood. I have grown to love the Whittier neighborhood, with it's eclectic population of artists, spiritual seekers, students, families and community-minded folks. This is an incredible location: quiet and secluded, but within blocks of outdoor festivals, parades, celebrations and the constant street festival that is the Pearl Street Mall. You are literally at the center of the action here, but you can come home to the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of 'the Oasis on 18th!'

What makes this property unique

Walk to the Farmer's Market, to dozens of great restaurants and coffee shops. Head over to the Boulder Creek bike trail, or up the hill to the campus. Or get away from it all with a book in the quiet of the backyard, or sit in the sun and look up into the leaves of the majestic silver maple. This is a house that invites rejuvenation and restoration---you're living in a bit of history here: there were street cars that travelled on 18th Street. Get out of the car and back on your feet---fix some delicious simple food and sit out at the picnic table, watch the birds and flowers and enjoy the good life.
