Loved our stay

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a wonderfully long weekend at this lake home. Although we had rain for 2 days off and on it did not stop us from boating and fishing. Beautiful beach and such clear water. We loved having fires by the lake. We are already booked for next year. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Beautiful setting and had a wonderful time.

  • 4 of 5

This house had plenty of room for our extended family. Three bathrooms was a plus with 5 females, 2 of them teenagers. We enjoyed the wonderful screen porch and fire ring. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans. House was clean and neat. The lake was beautiful and we liked the little town of Marcell. The convince store there had everything we needed including ice cream cones and sundaes. Weather was perfect and fishing from the dock was fun, lots of little fish to catch and release.

It was nice to be met at the house and to go over information. We only had some small complaints. Unfortunately there was a newly discover mouse problem which they were trying to handle. We are familiar with living in the woods so weren't too freaked out. The curtains in the master would not close which made it a little hard to sleep late and there weren't enough garbage cans so we couldn't put all the garbage in covered cans. Overall we were pleased and would recommend this house to others.

Great comfortable rental for the money, and nature area

  • 4 of 5

It was great to have the smiling faces of the property managers (Brenda, then Tim) greet us upon arrival to walk through, and answer questions. All of us appreciated the clean well kept house and property. It was really a plus to have matching dinnerware and flatware vs. other places with garage sale dishes and pots and pans. Also, we did not want for a single thing- just opened a different drawer or cabinet and there it was! The water pressure, enough hot water, and 3 bathrooms for 7 women was great. Enjoyed the fire pit, dock, and the walkways. Wish that the fish had been biting more, but you can't have everything. Thanks from all of us.

Great spot for the whole family!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house from 7/2/16 - 7/9/16 and had a blast. The home has all the living facilities on one level and had more than enough room for my wife, our two kids (ages 3 and 11 months) and my wife's parents. The layout is very nice for two families or extended families as it has two separate "wings" where the bedrooms are located. The layout would be perfect if there was another private bathroom by the south "wing" bedrooms (which are connected). The home was well stocked and everything worked (including the wifi which was great to have).

The beach is sandy and we had fun catching frogs and crayfish. The boat house is great to store beach toys and fishing gear. We had a lot of fun on the paddleboat, too. My in-laws brought their pontoon and the water was too low to launch it from the private launch on our arrival, however, we were able to use the private launch to take the boat out of the water. The deck is multi-level and it would be nice to have a big flat deck. The screen porch was wonderful for having meals and enjoying views of the lake. The fishing was very good even right off the dock. We caught sunnies, crappies, bass, and a northern right off the dock.

It is secluded from tourist traps and neighbors, which is what we were looking for, but there are restaurants and stores a short drive away. It rained near the end of our stay, which made the ground near the beach very wet (large puddles and spongy ground) and filled the fire pit with water rendering it unusable. That was the only downside we experienced. We would definitely stay again, it is a great family destination!
