Built in 1800 and recently renovated, this charm-filled half house is steps away from historic Woodstock Village. The home is full of light and has stainless steel appliances and all new furnishings. There is a small yard and a deck in the back overlooking the Ottauquechee River and views of Mount Tom from the front door. The house is next to the Woodstock Recreation Center and a half-mile from the Woodstock Inn and Resort with its world-class spa and golf course.

The house has antique wide pine flooring throughout with tile in the kitchen and baths. The living room is a perfect place to gather after a day of shopping or outdoor activity with lots of comfortable seating and a place to put your feet up. The 48” flat screen TV has Netflix available and free WiFi is available throughout the house. The large and comfortable sofa is also a very comfortable sleep sofa. In the dining room, a large farm table seats 8. The stainless steel appliances in the kitchen are brand new and include a microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, blender, iron, and ironing board, with a washer and dryer, as well. There is a gas grill on the back deck and comfortable outdoor seating.
Upstairs, the bedrooms have brand new beds and antique furniture. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a window that overlooks the river, so you can fall asleep with the sound of the river as your lullaby. There are 2 other bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds, and the other with a single twin. Plenty of fresh towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows are available.
Also nearby, is the Woodstock Health and Fitness Club where a day pass will enable you to use the fitness center, tennis courts, racquetball, Jacuzzi, pool, sauna, etc. Adjacent to the Fitness Center is the golf course. The Woodstock Inn & Resort Golf Club has been named one of the world's 'top 100 golf resorts' by Golf Magazine. This 18-hole masterpiece was designed by legendary course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and is surrounded by beautiful panoramic views of the Kedron Valley. In the winter months, the golf course becomes a groomed cross-country ski resort with trails for all ability levels. For the more advanced trails head up into the woods on Mt Peg.
There are many options for skiers of all abilities and inclinations: Suicide Six-10 min away; Killington- 15 min; Pico-25 min; Ascutney-30; Okemo-35 min.
Woodstock is also close to Dartmouth College, Vermont Law School and the Green Mountain Horse Association.
The best way to get a feel for the town is to wander down River, Central and Elm streets, browse the shops and galleries, and walk across Middle Bridge, the covered bridge that spans the Ottauquechee River. Woodstock’s centerpiece, the village green, is ringed with buildings of different styles, from Federal mansions to a Greek-Revival courthouse and a Romanesque-style library. Described by Ladies Home Journal magazine as “The Prettiest Small Town in America”, Woodstock is a treat for the senses with tree-lined streets and flowers everywhere. The Village curves around the beautiful Outtaquechee which can be seen from its many bridges.
Woodstock is truly a four season destination with each season bringing the excitement of special events. Autumn, the most famous season in the Northeast draws the most visitors to the area with beautiful foliage as backdrop to hiking, biking, antiquing, photos, the Apple & Crafts Fair, the Sculpture Fest, Woodstock Digital Media Festival, the Vermont Fine Furniture and Woodworking Festival, Green Mountain Horse Association Fall Foliage ride as well as excursions and family outings to the nearby Billings Farm and Museum and the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park.
Skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hockey, curling, viewing the Snow Sculpture Contest on The Green or taking in a youth hockey game are just some of the many winter activities. The widely popular, annual Wassail parade and weekend including Holiday House Tours, and Messiah Sing.
Spring is a season of beauty in Woodstock with flowering blossoms on trees, tulip-lined lawns, maple sugaring season, pancake breakfasts and pure maple syrup in our local restaurants. The local garden club and shop owners create a burst of color throughout the Village.
Summer brings excitement, with the weekly Market on The Green, Thursdays Free Brown Bag Music Concerts (also on The Green), Woodstock Summerfest, Bookstock to mention a few. The Pentangle Arts Council, located at the Woodstock Town Hall, is just one third of a mile from the house, and presents live theatre and musical concerts as well as weekend movies.
