This totally remodeled original Garcia ranch bunkhouse has been converted into a contemporary home with a warm comfy feeling. It has been lovingly restored keeping the double adobe walls and high ceilings. This truly one of a kind historic home is over 120 years old yet has all the amenities of modern home.

This home is located less than one block from the Downtown Subscription coffee shop, a short stroll Canyon Road and the Downtown Plaza. It is situated in the heart of the historic eastside with world class museums on Museum Hill. You can stroll to music on the hill less than a mile away and drive to the Santa Fe Opera in ten minutes. The new Railyard arts and entertainment district is within walking distance and it is only a short 20 minute drive to the Santa Fe Ski Basin.

We provide a pick up grocery service at no delivery charge the day of your arrival. Let us know what items you would like in the kitchen or stocked in the refrigerator. Maybe you have a late flight and need some late night snacks or must have that non-fat half and half for coffee and orange juice with muffins in the morning!

In winter the living room fireplace provides for a cozy and romantic setting to watch the snow falling outside or enjoying friends for dinner in the adjoining dining area. The kitchen has been given "thumbs up" by several private chefs in Santa Fe. When it's time to go to bed, take a soothing soak in the claw foot tub or light one of the fireplaces and go to sleep with the warm glow reflecting on the beautiful plaster walls. The four fireplaces are stacked with wood and ready to go!

The truly unique 12-foot ceilings give home a spacious feeling and ceiling fans in living room and bedrooms provide a comfortable cool breeze on hot summer days. The hand-troweled diamond plaster walls, tall windows and skylights provide natural light on Santa Fe's sunny days. The entire house has warm radiant-heated floors and four fireplaces for chilly evenings and snowy days.

The living room is spacious with its large fireplace. It is a beautiful gathering place for an evening with a glass of wine with friends, watch the games on TV, play cards, hang with the kids or just read a book. The living room has access to the front courtyard with gorgeous sunset skies. There is plenty of room in the front courtyard for an afternoon cook out or evening gathering and dinner. The side courtyard with fountain, herb and vegetable garden and entertaining hummingbird feeder is a relaxing space to enjoy a cup of joe in the morning.

During the early spring pick strawberries, mid-summer pick apricots and cherries, and late summer pick fresh herbs and tomatoes for dinner or apples for a tasty cobbler.

The master bedroom has a view of the front courtyard with a large window with a shade that opens from the top or bottom. The beautiful kiva fireplace is equipped with gas for quick romantic lighting viewed from the king size bed. The attached large master bath with another fireplace has a large walk in shower.

The second bedroom with a queen bed has a fireplace and attached bathroom. The bathroom has a restored large claw foot bathtub for soaking with a shower head.

The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic top stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee grinder, coffee maker, expresso maker, waffle iron and fully stocked kitchen. The kitchen has a separate entrance for easily bringing in groceries.

The open dining room adjacent to the living and kitchen areas looks out onto another patio and garden area with easy access to the kitchen and grilling area.

French doors open the dining area to one of the two private patio areas. A walled courtyard with a heavenly garden includes an outdoor dining area for six. Smell the lavender in the spring, enjoy the lovely sunsets in the fall or fresh snow in the winter time, all from the privacy of the walled front courtyard.

Two parking spots are located right off paved Garcia Street.

A casita a few steps across the courtyard from the house is available for an additional fee. This separate, but adjacent, well-light space has a futon sofa, desk; internet access, bathroom with walk-in shower; kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, sink; and a charming wood burning fireplace/stove. There is a large room downstairs bedroom perfect for yoga, meditation, reading and quiet time. The casita is not rented separately, only as part of the main house. Consequently, if you don't rent it it will be vacant during your stay.
