Take a wonderful break at Bryn Bwthyn - perfect for families and groups.
A recently restored house on Penyrwrlodd farm, situated above Llanigon and just one and half miles from the book town of Hay on Wye. It has spectacular, unspoilt views stretching as far as the Brecon Beacons. Bryn Bwthyn sleeps 8 and boasts peaceful surroundings and is perfect for walkers and book lovers alike. The house boasts two sitting rooms and a large kitchen dining area. It has a wood burner in one living room and a patio area to sit outside in good weather and have a BBQ and a woodland garden. It is situated on a working farm on a quiet lane. There are walks straight from the door. This can be rented with The meeting house which sleeps 9, so would suit a large family get together.

Wonderful family time in a beautiful location
We so enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The house is fantastic - so much room and nicely laid out to accommodate 8 of us! Everything we needed was available and the beds were great.

Bank Holiday weekend with friends
What a wonderful location and an even better place to stay. Initial impressions were really positive. Anna met us at the property and was helpful and really friendly without being overbearing at all. The property itself has everything and more that you could possibly need on holiday - a real home from home. The space is flexible and there is plenty of it. Rooms are well presented, comfortable and warm. .The kitchen has every possible requirement. Living space is great - welcoming and well proportioned for the numbers of people. Plenty of bathrooms and facilities and also never ran out of hot water. Bedrooms are warm, beds and bedding really great. We've stayed at many properties over recent years ans Bryn Bwthyn is up there with the best we've encountered.
The outdoor areas are also great - only wish we'd stayed longer to enjoy the fantastic views and fire pits from one of several terraces and seating areas.
Anna and her family were lovely - great touches like the welcoming groceries and basics in place in the house(s) so that when you arrive you're off to a good start.
Well located for all local attractions and in our case activity in Glasbury.
We would 100% recommend this place to all and will definitely be back again
Thanks Anna and family

Annual get together with the best of friends
Such a great place. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the property - how could you not. Anna was friendly and helpful in every way without at all being over baring. The house(s) themselves have all the home comforts and more. The kitchen is very well kitted out with sample space, crockery, dishwasher and microwave. The lounge areas are cosey and well presented and the bedrooms are spacious - beds are comfortable and bedding is great. There's plenty of storage room and always heating and hot water - which for 8 adults daily showers was a real plus! The outdoor seating areas and terraces are lovely - shame we weren't there longer to take more advantage of them really on a short weekend break. We would 100% recommend this property / these properties to anyone. We've stayed at several over the years and the comfort, space and overall standard of Bryn Bwthyn was as good as any we have found before. We would definitely return and hope to soon with our family for longer. Thanks Anna and family for a great stay - just what we were looking for from our weekend. Best Regards David, Sue, and the rest of the party

About the host
Hosted by Julian Carlisle
Our family have lived on this farm for over 40 years now and we decided to diversify the business and create a wonderful place for visitors to stay just outside the wonderful book town of Hay on Wye. It is still a working sheep and cattle farm.
Why they chose this property
Located on a working sheep farm in the heart of the Black Mountains in the National Park.. Renovated and equipped to the highest standard, this newly converted property adjoins the Meeting House. This property sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms with one en-suite and 2 family bathrooms. All bedrooms are on the ground floor with the living accommodation on the first floor, taking advantage of the phenomenal panoramic views. The layout of the property, with 2 staircases/ living rooms and kitchens makes this the ideal property for 2 families holidaying together.
What makes this property unique
Bwyn Bwthyn can be booked together with The Meeting House to sleep 17 people in total, so is perfect for a family get together. Hay and the surrounding area of the Black mountains and Brecon Beacons has so much to offer for your week away.
