Tracy and Joseph live in Dallas, Texas. Tracy is from Wichita Falls, Texas and Joseph is from Monterey Park, California. Casita Eileen is the culmination of years of friendship, dreaming, planning, endings, and new beginnings. For most of Tracy's adult life he visited Northern New Mexico with his best friend Eileen Byrne. For many years they enjoyed trips to Santa Fe, Red River, Angel Fire, Taos, and Eagle Nest. Their trips included great friends, great food and always great wine. They talked about someday retiring to the 'City Different' and enjoying all of the relaxation and beauty of 'The Land of Enchantment'. Owing a casita they could share was always the goal of these life long friends. Plans for their joint retirement ended when Eileen was diagnosed with cancer at an early age. During her courageous battle with cancer, Eileen was recommended to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston as her last hope. Tracy joined her on her appointment at the hospital for the first of many visits. During the first visit, Tracy had the good fortune of meeting his partner Joseph while in Houston. The first conversations they had revealed that they had the same love for Santa Fe that Tracy and Eileen had shared for many years. Joseph had lived in Santa Fe for several years prior to returning to Houston. Joseph immediately shared Tracy's love for Eileen and accompanied her to the hospital for several more visits. Tracy and Joseph decided to follow all of their dreams and someday own a home in Santa Fe. Eileen passed away in 2010, but her spirit lives on in many peoples lives. Every visit to Santa Fe involves memories and celebrations of Eileen. As Tracy and Joseph made plans to purchase their first home in Santa Fe, they both wanted a name for their casita that would be perfect. Tracy considered names and Joseph wanted to share in that privilege. Over breakfast in Dallas, Joseph suggested the perfect name for the casita. Welcome to Casita Eileen.
Tracy Fulton and Joseph Mahoney purchased this townhome in 2014
We felt this location provided the best of both worlds--tranquility, nature and the feeling of 'getting away from it all', yet close enough to town for the activity, fun and culture that Santa Fe offers. The sunrises, sunsets and stars are amazing in this serene location.
Swimming daily throughout the summer! Hiking right outside the door! Enjoying sunset views 50 steps up the side of the hill! Enjoying central a/c when the weather gets too hot! Having Wifi in the house to stay connected to work and friends. The master bedroom has its own patio . We provide each guest with ONE complimentary bottle of Red Wine as a part of the Casita Eileen tradition. We offer Teacher, Military and First Responder discounts. Just mention this during booking.
We spent the month of July 2017 at Casita Eileen. It was a wonderful experience and we hope to return next summer. We were glad that we decided not to stay in town because Casita Eileen is in a a beautiful, peaceful setting with hiking trails literally steps from the door. This was important to us since our dogs were with us and they loved hiking with us each morning. The condo is beautifully decorated and full of interesting art. The beds were comfortable and made up with nice linens. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook, but our favorite restaurant is only 5 minutes away. It only takes 10 minutes to drive to the Plaza. Our hosts were easy to work with, quick to respond to our needs and very nice! I would recommend this condo to everyone!!
Great location for hiking and views.
very well organized, clean and beautiful views - the local market was a great place to eat lunch and watch football - great patio with chiminea fire - coming back again. RIck - Dallas
Very enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect. I'll be back.
Very comfortable property with good beds, 2 outdoor seating areas and well stocked kitchen.
We spent four nights in this delightful home. Casa Eileen was a perfect get away, offering spectacular views, hiking and a nice pool.
We attended the Santa Fe Opera (a 10 minute drive). We saw 4 Operas and didn't have to drive from Albuquerque, 120 miles round trip. We enjoyed the Spanish Market in Santa Fe,visited the new Meow Wolf museum and the galleries on Canyon Road.
Tracy and Joseph afford their guests a well maintained property with many amenities in comfortable surroundings.
This will be a certain destination next summer and recommend Casa Eileen to anyone traveling to "The Land of Enchantment",
