This beautiful log apartment style cabin is perfect for your Island Park vacation. It is located just 15 minutes from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park and West Yellowstone, Montana. It is located off of Highway 20 within walking distance of restaurants, golfing, a grocery store and a recreational rental shop. Whether you seek fishing, snowmobiling/atv riding, hunting, boating, skiing and hiking or just enjoying the great outdoors and mountain views on your vacation you have found the ideal cabin location!

This 3 bedroom cabin has a queen bed in each of its bedrooms. In addition, there is a futon located in the great room for an extra sleeping area. All bedding is provided with extra pillows and blankets. The cabin sleeps 8 guests comfortably. There are two bathrooms - the main bath has a shower room separated and all linens are provided. This cabin has the master bedroom downstairs with a bath and laundry area while the main living area is upstairs with two additional bedrooms. Please be aware that this cabin is located above a business, however the owner has spared no expense in creating the perfect place for you to isolate yourself in the coziness of the cabin with several inches of blown in insulation between the cabin and the business area.

Enjoy the beautiful open floor plan of this cabin with a large main living area that includes the kitchen, dining room and living room.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities needed for a home cooked meal. There is ample dishware and silverware, along with any cookware that you might need. Electrical appliances are provided, but not limited to, an electric skillet, crock pot, 12 cup coffee pot and toaster. We also try to provide a variety of spices. The dining room seats 6. If it is dining out that you desire, the cabin is within walking distance to restaurants or withing a few minutes of multiple other fast food or fine dining restaurants. The living room is cozy with a couch, loveseat and recliner. You can curl up with a good book in front of the propane fireplace or watch a movie on the flat screen television with Dish Network.

The outdoor gazebo provides room for sitting and enjoying the mountain air with a barbeque grill to enjoy that steak after a long day in Yellowstone National Park.

Cell phones work very well at the cabin. Internet access with WIFI are available at all times.

Arrive at any time and with door codes given in advance, there is no tedious check in time. Just arrive and make the cabin your home away from home!

KC Cabin is open year around and is conveniently located in a central location. Your vacation rental cabin is within minutes of some of the area's best activities.

Within minutes you could be enjoying YNP, Mesa Falls, Johnny Sacks Cabin or Sawtelle Peak. Enjoy float trips down the river, ziplines, hiking trails, horseback riding or take in a round of golf. This is a snowmobiler's paradise with some of the area's best riding accessible right from the cabin's front door. Enjoy over 500 miles of trail riding or withing minutes you could be boondooking in some of the best over the hood powder back country riding that you can imagine. The cabin is within walking distance of a rental shop that allows you to access your vacation toys whether it be snowmobile or atv your back country adventure awaits you!

The driveway has ample room for several trailer parking.

Nicely situated cabin near West Yellowstone (Island Park, Idaho)

We enjoyed the two level "cabin" with three bedrooms and two baths. The bedroom on the ground floor had en en suite bathroom. The ~20 mile drive from the cabin to YNP was pleasant.

Having a washer and dryer in the cabin was an added convenience.

A nice place in Island Park

KC Cabin was a great place to stay for our "long-weekend" trip to Yellowstone. It was a short drive to the park each morning. The corner gas station was very convenient and has a well-equipped convenience store, but it is a bit pricey to do your "main" shopping during your stay.

The cabin was nicely furnished, and one of the best stocked kitchens I have ever experienced at a VRBO. The addition of a colander would be great. It was difficult to drain the pasta. Also, there is no storage in two of the 3 bedrooms. The luggage racks provided were nice, but it would have been nice to be able to unpack into a dresser or closet. The closet in the lower bedroom was unusable since no hangers were provided.

There is no DVD player or library as was indicated in the amenities. Although we could have hooked up our portable player from the car, the threat of a fine for messing with the cabling was not worth it. Instead our kids streamed to their devices, despite the posting on the fridge. In 2017, I expect to have unlimited wi-fi and we did not limit our use during our evenings at the cabin.

If you are staying with a group, be sure to plan your bathing schedule. This was by far the smallest hot water supply I have ever experienced. Before 2 people had finished there shower, the hot water was gone...and there were still 6 of us to go...on the first day. Once we realized, we planned accordingly and bathed half at night and half in the morning. The showers were kept short so that the last person through could have a warm shower.

Finally, the morning of your departure starts early and is busy. In order to get all bath linens laundered, start early. The washer takes about 75 minutes to wash, which means you have to plan way ahead if you are going to have multiple loads. Sleeping in on the day of departure is not going to happen. Also, taking the trash to the dump is a bit of a hassle, though in speaking with others who have stayed in Island Park, this is a common practice in the area. However, I found it ironic that in the "Welcome Book" there was an ad for a garbage service. :)

If you are coming to Island Park to explore and enjoy the outdoors, KC Cabin is a great place. However, if were going to be hanging out at the cabin, I would re-think this choice as it was hard to "feel at home" with all of the signs and opportunities for fines everywhere.

Not what I had expected, but cute!

The inside was clean, cute and lovely. The outside is not what it looks like in the pictures. The door that is pictured is a door to an office. The cabin door is to the side and the living quarters are (mostly) up the stairs. This is an upstairs apartment. The other side of the cabin has a big sign advertising some of the businesses inside. That was confusing when we first drove up. The address was right, but I didn't realize we were staying above a coffee shop and a real estate office (entirely my fault for not reading everything thoroughly). If you were the person with the camera and took this picture of the door that you cannot use, and you turned around, you would be surrounded by trash and debris from construction. Ironically, you cannot take your own trash anywhere near the cabin to deposit it. You have to drive a good 15 or 20 min to the dump, which is closed periodically. So, that's important to note. You literally have to drive your trash out. Other than the misleading pictures, trash, and location above the different businesses, we had a lovely time. Everything was clean, cute and well stocked. The inside was perfect. If you are thinking, 'a cabin in the woods,' this is not for you. If you are thinking, 'an upstairs apartment with a good location to everything' this is a great fit for you.

Great Cabin for National Parks and Fishing

My family had a wonderful stay in the cabin. The property is perfectly located to get to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. If you are into fishing, really terrific location for the Madison and other rivers. The cabin is really a demo log house located on the first and second floor with a small coffee house on the lower level. The timbers are really cool and give a special feel to the place. Super clean and Shawna ensured we had everything we needed. I would absolutely recommend this to any family or friends and would stay here in a second upon returning to the parks.
