Linda and Kurt, the owner-operators of Bailèn 41, moved permanently to Barcelona in 2013 after trying out various places in Latin America, including Buenos Aires, Argentina, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where we also owned and managed short-term rentals.

When we travel, we like to stay in apartments because of the flexibility, convenience, and value-added they provide. We're sensitive to those special touches that make the difference between a short-term rental and a real vacation home, especially those involving cleanliness and order. We are focused on ensuring that your stay in Barcelona is worry-free. We personally greet you upon arrival and check you out on departure. And we are readily available for questions. We also offer concierge services for securing tickets, making reservations, etc.

Bailèn 41also guarantees check-in on arrival at the apartment instead of waiting for some arbitrary check-in time. Our guests - principally from Canada, USA, and Australia - really enjoy this amenity!

The unit is immaculately maintained and comes stocked with everything you need to immediately plunge into Barcelona living: we've got you covered with everything from bath products (including ample supplies of high-quality toilet paper) to kitchen supplies (coffee, milk, juice, bread, cold cuts and cheese, etc.)

Our overall experience of Bailèn 41 was excellent from the outset. Communication beforehand, arrival, orientation of the apartment, quality, cleanliness, comfort, area, ease to sights and a thoughtful welcome basket of goodies including array of bathroom bits and bobs was amazingly appreciated. Five weeks well spent!

Fond memories of Bailèn 41 will remain in our hearts and minds forever. First and foremost, the apartment is safe and secure, featuring lots of natural daylight throughout. Every amenity listed in the description was present, while the welcome basket and personal orientation of the apartment and surrounding areas by Linda exceeded our expectations.

Outside the front door just a thirty-second walk south to the right is located a well-stocked convenience store, while just a ten-minute walk north is an open market featuring a fine selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, meat, cheeses and baked goods. Whether it’s for a simple breakfast or to prepare an elaborate dinner, the kitchen meets or exceeds your needs. Otherwise, a ten-minute walk in any direction offers more restaurants and cafes than any heart desires.

The location is superb. We walked everywhere, especially south via the Arc de Triomf and Parc de la Cuitadella towards the downtown and beyond to the beachfront, and west for five blocks to Placa de Catalunya to catch our various bus trip excursions.

We also used the Metro buses, subways and train connections to venture further afield, but all commencing just minutes from our front door.

Although we arrived via airport bus to Placa de Catalunya and taxi to the apartment, we elected to take a taxi direct to the airport. Linda made the early morning reservations and was present for our departure. Gracias, Linda.

Home away from Home

Bailen 41 is a wonderful place to call "home" while you're visiting Barcelona! The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated, spotless, and equipped with everything you need, from kleenex tissues to a Welcome basket with wine, bread, jambon and cheese. It is in a perfect location for walking to many Barcelona sights or taking the Metro when your legs/feet need a rest!

Linda is a gracious and attentive host who checks you in, provides lots of information about the apartment (how to use the keys, the heating system, washing machine, etc.), nearby shops and restaurants, and how to contact her or her assistant, should you need anything.

A special area in the apartment is the Gallery, which I took to calling the Sunroom. It's a perfect place for expansive views of patios filled with plants and trees and apartments all around, with people living their lives, hanging laundry out to dry, and tending to their plants, including lemon and orange trees. On a sunny day, the room becomes warm and cozy, eventually showcasing the sunset developing slowly in your view.

We recommend this apartment whole heartedly, and know that you will feel welcome and part of the neighborhood as you make use of the nearby markets, restaurants, ATM's, the Metro stop, and the corner cafe.

The absolutely best experience!

We are highly experienced travelers with vrbo. Linda (the owner) was highly responsive to our email queries before arrival. She met us at the apartment exactly as agreed, walked us through its many excellent features and amenities (and Linda had a terrific welcome food surprise for us, too!), and reviewed her valuable information binder. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, very well constructed; its location is very convenient, safe, and quiet. During our stay Linda emailed to be sure that everything was as we wanted, and even sent us information on the local events that week. Upon departure she scheduled an early morning taxi pickup for us to the airport. She and her apartment were perfect! 5+ stars!

The best short term rental

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for 10 days. We have traveled a lot and rented many apartments here and at Airbnb. This is the best one out of dozens we have stayed in. Everything about this apartment is top class. The best location, the most comfortable, the most gracious and thoughtful host. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, which enabled us to explore the local markets and do a little cooking.

Linda’s apartment is everything and more. It is a perfect home for vacationing in a great city. The apartment has everything you need. Linda met us at arrival and was gracious and brave to wake up early to come and bid farewell. We were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by a week. We cannot reccommend this place enough. The location is also perfect, within walking distance of all of the places one would like to visit and night clubs. I can go on and on about the place. If you come to Barcelona, Bailen 41 should be the first place you try to book. Thank you Linda for providing such an amazing place.
