About David Cooper

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!

Why David Cooper chose Eastern Market

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!

What makes this townhome unique

No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!

Family trip to DC

  • 4 of 5

Apartment was very nice. We had 2 couples and 2 children (5 & 8) and were very comfortable. A few suggestions for the owners...kitchen could have a better supply of pots, pans etc and a larger coffee pot. Beds were ok (We prefer a really firm mattress and these are moderately firm) but sofa bed was pretty rough. Overall apartment was clean and attractive and the location was great. We were able to find parking for 2 cars in front of the apartment (our DC son got visitor passes for us in advance of our arrival). And plenty of good food within a few blocks.

A nice place in a great location. Close to the sights and comfortable for a family of 4.

David is a great host. Very responsive and accommodating. We found the unit to be clean and very comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms are updated with nice fixtures, faucets, and appliances. The location is fantastic and your are short walk from the Capital, Smithsonian museums, and many other DC landmarks. We would most certainly stay here again when going to DC.

Great location! Authentic DC experience!

  • 5 of 5

Felt like a DC resident staying in this historic townhouse! Perfect place for our family of 5 (including teenagers). Benefit of having a kitchen for breakfast before we headed out for the day. Located just a short walk from the Library of Congress and the Capital. Metro station and Eastern market area a short walk in the other direction. Check out Matchbox Pizza or Teds Bulletin for lunch or dinner. Visited all the museums as well as he newly opened Museum of the Bible which was top notch. Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent location, newly renovated, cozy condo.

  • 5 of 5

We’ve been visiting DC for 20 years now, and this location has been our favorite place to stay as a family. Five of us stayed comfortably with all of the amenities of home. Great location (we walked to nearly all of the sites), quiet, clean, overall a great experience. We will definitely be staying again.

Perfect all around

  • 5 of 5

Can’t say enough about this lovely property. The 2nd floor unit was beautiful, smelled brand new and was spotless. Bed was very comfortable and the unit was well appointed. The location is amazing- the most charming and beautiful neighborhood. It’s worth exploring just to see the variety of well renovated properties in the area. There are several local places to eat that are a real find- Eastern Market, The Bon Cafe and Jimmy T’s are within an easy walk. There’s no doubt I would stay here again in my next DC visit.
