Ma'alaea Kai is an often undetected property in the central valley of Maui on the south coast. The property is maintained immaculately with arguably the nicest lawn on the island. The proximity to the swimming pool, barbeques in addition to being on the first floor which makes the large private lawn like your own backyard. Waking to the sun rising out the beach bedroom window directly over 10,023 foot Mt. Haleakala is one of the highlights of a trip to this property.

A great stay, in a great condo, in a great location!

As a family of four adults we stayed at this property for two weeks in late April. Firstly, this is a very good location on Maui to stay - out of the hubbub of more touristy areas, yet near enough to them to even just go for dinner. (We also found a few good dining spots and the Foodland grocery store etc serving the local population in nearby Wailuku very handy) Secondly, the condo property itself is very well kept with the grounds well manicured and the pool and BBQ area very clean. Unit 110 was also very well liked by us all. This ground floor condo with easy access to the grounds and the pool by just stepping off the lanai, made an already spacious feeling unit even more so.....and the sea turtles were on the rocks entertaining most evenings... just steps across the lawn. The bedrooms having their own full bathrooms each was also a nice feature. The kitchen was very well equipped with cooking implements and the recent updating of the flooring, and the new appliances etc made food prep enjoyable. We all highly recommend this property and look forward to staying again.

Amazing place to stay!!!

We stayed here from Mar 7th - 21st, 2018. We were impressed from the start. Richard was very helpful with all the information that we needed to begin our vacation. The unit was nice and clean and ready for us. The unit had everything we needed. And yes, the pictures on the VRBO site are true. The grounds are very well maintained. The view from the patio is breathtaking, Ocean view all the time. The BBQ's are so clean, it is like you have a brand new grill everyday. The staff is so friendly and everyone is so nice. Yes, I will be back. Had a wonderful vacation. It was our Mom and daughter vacation, and it was wonderful! Mahalo. Angela & Josephine.

Clean, Convenient, Comfortable

This property is on the ground floor with the pool just outside. Being on the ground floor allowed us to come and go from the condo while enjoying the property as an extended living space. Perfect for whale and Turtle watching! Love this place!

Better Than We Imagined

The condo was amazing!! Everything about it was great. The best thing was the location. It was in a quiet area away from the crowds and centrally located for all the thinks we wanted to do. We could walk to the marina and catch any excursions we wanted. We loved just sitting on the patio and watching the whales jump in the bay. It was better than the whale watching boat we went on. Richard was very flexible to work with and always responded quickly to our questions. It was our first trip to Maui and it was perfect. We hope to return soon.

Perfect for our family of 3

Ma'alaea Kai is a great property in an ideal & central Maui location. The location of Unit 110 on the ground floor was great with an infant who on the move. Richard & Jackie are great hosts providing all the basics you need which is very helpful, in addition to some amazing extras (e.g., beach chairs, fully stocked kitchen, etc.). The unit was clean, spacious - and the trade winds added ample breeze to keep things cool.

The neighbours are very friendly and there are lots of Canadians escaping the cold weather at home.

Another great point of this property is the proximity to the pool and BBQ area as well as the small beach at the end of the street. The walking distance proximity to the Maui Ocean Centre (Aquarium) is also an added benefit. Only a 10-15 minutes from major shopping centers so it is easy to get everything you could possibly need.

We felt very safe and our little one had a blast exploring the green lawns. We were able to see whales right from the lanai, and enjoyed all our meals outside.

After 6pm, things quiet down which is another nice plus for a family with young children.

We really enjoyed our time staying in unit 110 and look forward to returning again in the future.
