Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

This lovely, newly remodeled cabin on the hill top of Lake Byllesby is a great get-a-way or vacation only 40 minutes from the Twin Cities and 45 minutes from Rochester. The lake is a hidden gem for sailing, fishing and boating. The view from the cabin overlooks 2000 acres of undeveloped boyscout land so the view is amazing. As you look at the lake, the left side is a public park with boat landing. This makes it a quiet and private lot on the lake.

Relax on the deck with a book and binoculars in hand to watch soaring eagles, woodpeckers, blue birds, Herons and White Pelicans.

There is an outdoor dining table with 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs with cushions, 2 adirondak chairs and a hammock for your use. Walk down to the dock for some sunning, canoeing or fishing. Enjoy the warmth of the fire pit overlooking the lake, toast marsh mellows, tell stories and simply just relax.

The layout of the cabin is very clean and simple. 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, laundry area, sun room, living room and kitchen. The yard is big enough to play football, badminton, volleyball, bean bag toss. We have a horse shoe terrace.

There is also a flower garden and herb garden for your use. We have recently purchased a canoe and paddle boat for your enjoyment.

About Dawn & Mike Snow

We enjoy the great outdoors, family, friends and our pets. We fell in love with the Cabin on Lake Byllesby, the local area and the friendly people. We live in Aberdeen SD. We have local contacts that help us keep our cabin beautiful.

Dawn & Mike Snow purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Dawn & Mike Snow chose Cannon Falls

Centrally located to casinos, culture, hiking, wine country, water-sports, antiquing, the Minneapolis / St. Paul area, Rochester, Northfield (St. Olaf & Carlton), snow-mobile trails, hiking, skiing, golfing etc.

What makes this cabin unique

Love the easy access to the beach and lake living. It is 3 minutes to the best of golf courses. Wine tasting is right in town. We enjoy just BBQing, making a fire and relaxing. In the mornings I love to take the dogs for a walk to the park and along the nearby hiking trails right out the door. Watching the deer, golden finches, cardinals, humming birds.....

Very well maintained, clean, comfortable cabin on Lake Byllesby

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect get away for my family and pets while our hardwood floors were being refinished at our home in Rochester. It is a nice space on the water with all the comforts of home, satellite tv, dvd player, washer and dryer, dishwasher, etc. The deck and fire pit are perfect for relaxing, enjoying the water view and watching the moon rising. It is right next to the boat launch and there is a large grassy area for the dog to run around and wade into the water. There were a lot of mosquitoes, but this is Minnesota so bring your bug spray. My husband took out the kayak and enjoyed touring the lake. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is roomy. We also enjoyed a surprisingly good Mexican restaurant, Rancho Loco, a short drive into Cannon Falls. We liked it so much we ate there every day, and after dinner walked the Cannon Falls trails. One day it rained all day so we found a Redbox in Cannon Falls and watched movies and baked brownies back at the cabin. Very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend this cabin.

Amazing views and cozy home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our long weekend stay here! They have a lovely two-bedroom home with detached garage. The most wonderful part of this property is the deck and extended yard which is on the lake front. We highly recommend a stay at this lake home!!

This little piece of heaven is so perfect! Plenty of privacy with beautiful views! We enjoyed viewing the lake as well as playing in it! The property was very comfortable and decorated perfectly for a vacation home. The outdoor spaces were great for family time. We utilized the backyard space for hours and hours. I will never forget the memories we made at this amazing property!

Beautiful setting, well-appointed cabin, thoughtful hosts, with AC and a dishwasher!

  • 5 of 5

This quiet cabin is beautifully decorated with relaxation in mind. There are beautiful views of the lake, and we enjoyed using the provided canoe and paddle boat on a gorgeously sunny Memorial Day. The yard was perfect for our corn hole games, enjoying meals on the patio, and enjoying the moon rises and views of the lake from the bonfire pit. The hammock is also quite comfortable. Great communication with the owners. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need, and I thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of having a dishwasher on our stay. It is air conditioned and the owners have thoughtfully provided small fans in each bedroom to help with additional air circulation if desired. The hospitality gifts of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. was a kind act of hospitality as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this cabin, and I would love to return!

Sunrise & sunsets were picture book beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Most enjoyable (and VERY cold) stay for Christmas 2017 at our cottage by the lake. Being from the south and with temperatures below zero and wind chills even colder, it was a one of a kind Christmas for us. Regardless, the cottage was cozy warm and furnished with all the necessities for a great stay. Parking inside the garage was a big plus given the weather, although we had no real measurable snowfall. The cottage and the close proximity to the lake and boat launch would make a fantastic stay for families during warmer weather. If a visitor is an ice fishing fan, this is the place to rent!
