About the property

Beautiful 4 BR, 3BA ranch home on five acres

Our family homeplace will provide you a great vacation escape. Bring your boat and dock it on the beautiful, clean Satilla River. Swim in the heated pool or fish in the pond. You can even play a few sets of tennis on your own private court or set up a family tournament playing ping-pong! We've recently done some remodeling to make this picturesque home more convenient. Home now sleeps ten--so it's the perfect place for a family gathering!

Woodbine is a small Southern coastal Georgia town within an easy drive of Brunswick, GA, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Amelia Island, FL to the south. There's a cafe uptown that serves lunch on weekdays, a local hangout called Captain Stan's that has pretty good food, and a grocery store to meet your needs. The big city of Jacksonville is 45 minutes away, and the airport there is even closer.

This home is ideal for those who want peace and serenity with river access.

Our outdoors campfire area will prove fun on cooler evenings. Roast weenies and marshmallows, sit around the fire, and swap stories. Create memories at Cypress Point!

About Joel and Henry Williams, Camden Williams, LLC

Henry Williams, Sr. and his wife Bebe built their home--Cypress Point--outside of Woodbine, GA in 1959. Current owners are brothers Joel and Henry Williams. The brothers participated in land-clearing, pond-digging, and some brick cleaning during the building. Bricks for the house came from the old Oglethorpe Hotel in Brunswick. It's a family joke that Henry, Sr. was a hard taskmaster, paying the boys 'a penny a brick' for knocking the old mortar off the bricks. In reality, the boys cleaned very few bricks, but the story persists. Joel and Henry sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay at Cypress Point with all its Southern charm and beauty!

Why Joel and Henry Williams, Camden Williams, LLC chose Woodbine

We've turned this property into a VRBO because we grew up here and love the land. We want our grandchildren to have the fun we had growing up. The opportunities are endless! Fish in the pond, ski in the river, play ping-pong or tennis on your own private court, swim in the heated pool, learn to paddle a john-boat, roast marshmallows over the fire pit, hop on the golf cart for a town tour, ride the bikes around Woodbine or on the beautiful trail, or go to see one of our local sights: the Okefenokee Swamp, Cumberland Island National Seashore, historic St. Marys, Amelia beaches, quaint Fernandina, picturesque St. Simons Island, or the beaches and historic millionaires' cottages on Jekyll Island.

Notes:
This home was built on the site where the ferry for the Old Dixie Highway crossed the Satilla River. The property includes a fixed and floating dock on the River. If you bring a boat, it can be tied to the floating dock. There is a high-tide launching ramp on the property, and a mile away the city has a launching ramp which works on all tides. Bricks for the home exterior came from the old Oglethorpe Hotel in downtown Brunswick.

Beautiful property and wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Thanksgiving week and had an amazing time. We were able to put our boat in the river on the property a couple of hours after high tide and left it tied up to the floating dock the entire time we were there. We fished the pond and the river and caught a couple of fish but would consider hiring a fishing guide for a day next time to figure out the best way to fish here. We are more experienced with flats fishing for redfish and flounder on the Intracoastal, not fishing for white catfish. The noseeums were annoying so bring bug spray.

The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It feels like an older southern style home. Not fancy but clean, very homey and comfortable. I was very impressed how well stocked it was with coffee pods, toilet paper, paper towels, lots of bath and pool towels, and kitchen equipment. Thanksgiving dinner requires a lot and we found everything we needed to cook and serve the food. We couldn't find a meat thermometer for the turkey on Thanksgiving so I called Joel and he brought one over in about 10 minutes. What a wonderful host!

The fireplace in the family room was very nice and they even provided the wood for the fires! We also really enjoyed the ping pong table, the tennis court (balls and rackets were provided), the heated pool and the golf cart!

The property is beautiful and very peaceful. It was also nice to have internet, cable TV and lots to do!

Beautiful setting for a relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of seven women thoroughly enjoyed staying at this great property. We loved the pool, the gorgeous view and the convenient location. We had easy access to the Okefenokee Swamp, Jekyll Island and we would have gone to Cumberland Island had it not been closed due to hurricane damage.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Iris. Your group was delightful. Enjoyed so much talking to them and discussing some of their questions about history of the area. I hope you will make this a regular occurrence!

Owner's Response: Thanks, Jim. Really enjoyed having your group here! You came at just the right time before Irma. Has taken us about a week to clean up the fallen trees and spanish moss everywhere. Thankfully no damage and we were safely above the highest water level. Look forward to your return! Joel.

Fantastic Trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Cypress Point. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. The property was beautiful, and my family enjoyed the tennis court and pool immensely. They really have thought of everything. The only drawback, which was minor, was not being able to keep the door to the outside in the master bed room locked (the knob was locked but you could still push the door open. Other than that, it was a great experience, and I'm sure we'll be back.

Owner's Response: Charles, was so great to have you visit us. You have to kind of jerk on the door to latch it securely. Will work on this. Hope you will be back soon! Joel.

Beauty beyond measure!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented through VRBO the past ten years. This property is by far the best property I have ever rented. The property is massive. The lake, the river, the tennis courts, the swimming pool, the bicycles, so much to offer for everyone. There is a walking or biking trail about a half mile from the house. It is simply amazing! If you are into the "rock painting" and hiding, you need to join the Rockin In The Bine group on Facbook. Someone hides new rocks on the trail and athletic park everyday.

Joel is an amazing host that lives next door. He never bothers you. But is only a moment away if you have an issue or need something.

Oh yea, I forgot the golf cart and fishing. You will have the time of your life!!
