About Tyrone

I have lived in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver for 23 years. Absolutely love this area! Moved here from Montreal and have never looked back.

I work in Education with high school students and work hard at giving back to m community.

Tyrone purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Tyrone chose North Vancouver

Since I was a teenager I wanted to own a home here in Lynn Valley. Not only because I spent a lot of my younger years here but because of the natural beauty and tranquility of the area.

What makes this apartment unique

I take much pride in my home as it is my baby, haha! My favorite thing to do is come from the bustling city and return home to the peace and quiet of this property where it is literally me and nature. No noise from cars, trucks or anything. Being at the end of the street and a No-through cul de sac, It really does seem like I am the only person around and you will feel this to. It's Fantastic! Especially when city life is minutes away.

Clean with great parking that's in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

Tyrone has been wonderful to work with and offered helpful advice during our stay.

The entry to the rental was on the side of the house. The space is roomy and comfortable. My family and I felt safe in the quite location.

The Sav-on grocery store was 4 minutes from the house with everything you could need for your stay with great resturaunts and site seeing within minutes.

I would stay again!

Cozy place for Christmas

  • 5 of 5

My mom and sister stayed at Tyrone's suite over Christmas. The suite is nicely renovated, beds were very comfortable and was tidy upon arrival. Kitchen had plenty of things to make meals or enjoy a glass of wine.

Check-in was easy and clearly laid out.

When we arrived some ice had formed on the walkway overnight, we let Tyrone know and he immediately addressed it and salted the entire path to the suite. Excellent response from the host!

Would definitely recommend this listing.

Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

Travelling from Australia we found Tyrone's place more than adequate for a family of four. The place was clean and well presented. We did not bother to have a car during our stay and buses were close by. Be prepared for some steep walks if you do not have a car, we enjoyed ourselves without a car. I would recommend to others if you wish to use the Laundry make sure you know where it is as there was a door in the unit locked that we assume was the laundry, we only noticed on our last night. Apart from that everything with regards to our stay was great.

Old house - good location

  • 3 of 5

This suite looks better on the pictures than it is in the real life. It is nice and generally OK but needs to be thoroughly updated so it can be truly enjoyed.

The cleaners did not do a great job before our arrival so it had some Halloween feel to it with spiderwebs etc. Staying there in winter as we were makes you notice that there is no heating in kitchen area which makes it quite uncomfortable.

Another issue to have in mind is that VRBO shows the approx. house location way to the West compared to its real location so the commute to the Hollyburn club was a bit longer than desired.

The property management was quite responsive to our requests - I can't complain about that. Internet access was fast and reliable but cable had only basic SD channels. Shopping mall nearby is a bonus.

Overall it was OK but the suite needs some work.

A nightmarish arrival and an average stay

  • 1 of 5

After a 30 hour long trip from Argentina, our family of 4 arrived at night to the property, in wintry conditions. The paths, both at the front and the end of the property, had not been sanded or salted, which made them rather lethal. My husband slipped on black ice and hurt his leg, which eventually required 3 stitches. I called the owner for help, he came to help carry the luggage and lent us his first aid kid. At no moment did he enquire about the seriousness of the injury or offer to take my husband to a clinic. the wound was deep and open and I steri- striped it after settling our children down. My husband trousers were very stained with blood, and I must say that I was pretty much in shock. Fortunately that family was nearby to get the proper emotional support after such an arrival...

I believe it was the responsibility of the owner to make sure that the access to his property was safe for his guests, that he should have properly de-iced the paths both at the front and the back - the access at the back is pretty steep and the parking rather tight, with poor lighting. It was negligent not to have done so. The owner popped in the next day to give us the wifi code and to open the laundry room, but at no moment did he enquire about how my husband was. He left on holiday the very same day.

The property itself was comfortable enough for the 4 of us (both bedrooms are with double beds, 2 single beds would make it far more comfortable for children to sleep, so I settled one of the kids on the sofa...), the kitchen is large and well equipped, the bedding is comfortable, the property is quiet and the heating system efficient. Cleanliness borderline (microwave with dried soup in it, bedside lamp dusty, light duvet in wardrobe not laundered..). The owner had left some bananas, chocolates and cereal bars in the kitchen, which was rather nice, but I would have preferred less veneer and more sense of responsibility from his part.

So overall a frustrating and painful stay for my husband.. and no skiing for him, which was rather sad...

I would not recommend to rent this property in winter, and found that the owner did not provide a good customer service given the nature of the incident.

Owner's Response: Its too bad this guest felt the need to write a negative review and leave out very important parts. A week prior to arrival, I emailed these guests due to Vancouver's worst snow storm in a decade. I asked them to park in the back driveway as the main street was not cleared by city snow trucks. Upon arrival at midnight, the guests ignored my email and parked at the front. The husband did slip on the city street, Not my property and he injured his leg. I asked them why they didn't park at the rear and the wife said they "Did not want to park in the back". After helping them bring in all their bags, I brought them a first aid kit. Wife said she was a nurse and she would take care of her husband. The next morning, I did come down and I spoke with the husband about his injury. He said it was better but still sore and that they were going to the clinic. I attempted to give directions but he said they had already googled it. When I left on my own vacation 3 days after these guests arrived, they had seemed very happy and had indicated that to me each day when I spoke to them. The notion that I did not show concern for her husbands injury is insulting. The claim that their was no path to walk without snow is false. Had the guests followed instructions, the injury would not have occurred. Unfortunately, the husband did hurt himself but was able to enjoy their stay and visit with family. While on my vacation out of the country, I did call to check in and I spoke with the husband who said how nice it was that I would call from so far away to check in on them. There you have it. The wife chose to write a review based on falsehoods and clearly did not speak with her husband prior, or she would have known I inquired about his injury and that I called. She also chose not to follow parking instructions, which let to the unfortunate fall. I was left thinking they had a great time after speaking with the Husband, this review was a shock to me. After the extremely long flight delays and her husbands slip and fall on the street, she was upset, I can understand that. But to take it out on me when neither of those issues were any fault of mine is unfair as is her review.
