This property is amazing with 3 private Acres, great views from inside rental and out. Just finished 6/20/14, new beds and appliances etc.

The property has its own trail to river front for fishing and swimming. The water comes from the reservoir so it is very clean.

The 2nd floor is a master bedroom with a new King bed and vaulted ceilings. Also on the 2nd floor is a den, with great views of the mountains, this room can also be used as a bedroom. The full bath with a tub and shower is between the den and the bedroom.

The 1st floor has a full working kitchen and a table for four. The living room is right off kitchen with a half bath. The mountain views from the living room are wonderful.

There are 3 HD TV's, with internet service.

Outside is your own private deck with table and four chairs. Cleaning fees just $35.

We love dogs but have some guidelines. Please check with us before booking on number and breeds. There is a pet fee of $50 for one dog.

Incredible!

We loved staying at this property!!! It's nice, clean and has a great view! It's perfect to take a cup of coffee out on the deck in the morning and look out at the mountains. It's only about 10 minutes from downtown Asheville which has plenty of restaurants and breweries. Also, it's only about 40 minutes from Pisgah National Forest. We will definitely be back!

Nice and clean!

If you’re looking for a place near downtown Asheville, Biltmore House, and Blue Ridge Parkway this is your place! House is in a neighborhood so if you’re looking for privacy this is not the place. Loved the massage chair after long days of hiking!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The rental was designed for 2 people and the den has a futon that can be converted to a bed to add extra people. The price is comparable to a Hampton Inn, or Holiday Inn that is close to this rental. But it has a full kitchen, full living room, and the view is spectacular.

Disrupted weekend

  • 3 of 5

We arrived in the neighborhood after dark and even though we were using a turn-by-turn navigational guide missed the drive. We were surprised to see a person standing in a yard with a flashlight and what appeared to be a rifle. After a quick turn around we located the drive and house. Note: the street sign has an arrow taped to it pointing in the direction of the duplex. The drive was dirt and gravel and slopes down to the house. There is a very large hole in the drive. Maybe dug by the track hoe in the back. The house is neat and functional. The broken and loose kitchen chairs mentioned in a previous review are still in the house along with the antique hall tree. After turning in for the night we head out in the morning. It has snowed and the SUV barely climbs the hill. The SUV is functional and the driver experienced. Returning late afternoon the decision was made to park at the top of the hill and walk down to the house to prevent being stuck at the bottom. There is no power to the house. We waited until dark before deciding to leave. It is freezing and the temperature is dropping. There are no emergency supplies in the house. There are candles, no matches. We carry our belongings and the groceries around the hole in the drive and up the hill to the car. Perishable food was discarded as the motel we went to did not have an efficiency.

The house was clean, the kitchen utensils acceptable to warm and serve and we are not interested in a future discount. Once is enough.

Owner's Response: Yes this was a disaster. The weather was forecasted for 1 to 2 " of snow and we got 12". When Asheville gets 12" of snow, which seldom happens, we are all stuck for awhile. There were power outages throughout the area. Roads were unpassable and it was a nightmare. Who can blame people, who were expecting a nice vacation, to be upset when it turns out badly. The power company hit a water line in the driveway and there was a barrier put up around the hole. That has been fixed and covered. New chairs that were ordered, before they arrived, have have been replaced. This is a very safe neighborhood and people don't walk around with guns. There are candles, matches, and a flashlight in every unit. When the electric did come back on I called the renters. They decided not to come back. I am sorry this happened, I know I would be upset myself.

Disappointing is the word that comes to mind upon arriving to this place.

The location, the views, and the structure are closed to the descriptions provided, however, the level of comfort for a vacation is also dictated by the furniture in place. The furniture in this rental is of low quality. The couch is very uncomfortable to seat, definitely thrift store quality as is the remainder of the furniture, including the “new beds”. There is a massage chair that is supposed to pass for a recliner (the only one) in the living room. Don’t expect to seat in this chair and comfortably watch a movie. It is not designed for this purpose. The dining room has four chairs but you should only use two, one has a broken back which has been duck taped together and left for use, and the other shakes as you seat.

Owner's Response: Sorry you were disappointed with the rental. Most people find it comfortable. We have ordered a new sofa 2 weeks ago and it has not been delivered yet. I know the sofa had some problems. I will check the chairs as they may be loose and need to be tightened. Most of the wood furniture are antiques and I guess that is not your taste. If you would of contacted me I could've done something but I didn't hear from you even after I emailed you to contact me if there were any problems.
